Mountain View Tropical Retreat - Cassowary Coast

Start your day feeling completely rejuvenated in a spacious retreat, surrounded by tropical rainforest, cane fields and mountain views. Breakfast on your private balcony, and take in the sweet sounds of tropical birds and wildlife. After a day exploring our region, perhaps indulge yourself in an indoor spa overlooking the rainforest at night. Located 15 minutes to Paronella Park, 25 minutes to Mission Beach, and 30 minutes to Innisfail. A short day trip to the Waterfalls and Atherton tablelands. The space This spacious 2 bed, 2 bath self contained elevated guesthouse is set on our property of 4 acres of lawn, tropical gardens, and winding creek, overlooking untouched rainforest. It is set at the foot of the mountain range on the historic Canecutter Way, on the Cassowary Coast between Silkwood and Innisfail. The guesthouse offers a master bedroom with its own ensuite, including a giant shower and seperate hot tub overlooking the rainforest. It has a cosy comfortable queen bed, with plenty of wardrobe and storage space, and extra blankets for cool nights. There is an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe if you need it. The second bedroom also has a queen bed, its own ensuite with separate shower and toilet, extra blankets, wardrobe and clothing storage. All towels and bed linen are supplied, and the kitchen includes a stovetop, dishwasher, air fryer/ oven and slow cooker along with all the appliances and essentials for cooking during your stay. There is also a washing machine and dryer for your convenience in the laundry room, near the keylock, which can be accessed with your front door key. We have included laundry liquid, and a folding washing line for your use. There is also a washing line outside and pegs for use in the laundry area. The dining area also overlooks the rainforest, and seats 4 people comfortably, and the lounge area has plenty of space to stretch out. A smart TV, books, Netflix and wifi are also included. The private balcony has cafe style seating and overlooks views of the rainforest, bamboo grove, the local resident metallic starlings, and the canefields. Relaxed dining is available outside on the patio, along with barbeque facilities, and a UV shaded umbrella is provided to keep you cool and protected from the sun on hot days. Pets are very welcome on request, but please be aware that we have wildlife on the property, and no fencing, so they will need to be supervised and on lead while on the property. We do offer petsitting services too, if you have day or night time activities planned, and can't take them with you. Great wifi available, plenty of onsite parking in the double bay allocated for your car, boat, or van. Guest access Our property is set on 4 acres of lawn, rainforest, tropical gardens and bamboo grove. The retreat is completely private and well away from the main house with its own secluded frontage, parking space and self check in. You are welcome to explore the grounds, especially if you have pets that need to stretch their legs. The property is unfenced, so please make sure your pets are supervised to help protect our local wildlife. We do have the occasional wallabies, pademelons, bush turkeys, and monitors on the property, and we have even seen a shy cassowary looking for rainforest fruit near the creek. Wake to the morning sounds of cheeky kookaburras welcoming the day, and the resident metallic starlings chirping and calling as they busily build their nests. Keep an eye out for the beautiful irridescent blue ulysses butterflies who sometimes explore the gardens or hibiscus trees. Other things to note Please contact us to discuss if you wish to bring your pets. Pets are very welcome on request! Please note they need to be supervised and on lead as we do have wildlife on the property, as it is unfenced with a small creek. Ask us about petsitting options if you plan on skydiving at Mission Beach, or going white water rafting at Tully, or enjoying any other non pet friendly activities during your stay. We can reccommend a local Silkwood doggy daycare that we love, to help you get the most from your time exploring the Far North region. Plenty of onsite parking (2 bays) is available for your car(s), boat or van. RV's are welcome. Please consider your energy usage, and turn off the three air conditioning units if you are out for the day, and close windows to assist while cooling the rooms.
