The Fal Narrowboat at Oakwood Marina

Our narrowboat Fal is moored at Oakwood Marina on the Trent & Mersey Canal near the village of Davenham. A very friendly community which has an on site shop and tea room which opens Thursday to Monday. Within easy reach of M6 motorway. Chester is around 30 minutes away, Knutsford is 15 minutes drive, not to mention some of Cheshires many gardens of distinction and country houses. **Winter offer for long term stays (over 28 Days) until 1st March 2026!** The space As you enter the boat you will walk down some steps into the kitchen area which has standard size sink area and drainer, gas oven and hob, microwave, coffee machine, toaster and kettle and a washing machine. The lounge has a breakfast bar area with two stools, and a two seat settee with side table, a satellite tv. Two electric heaters. Middle bedroom can be a single or a double bed, but as this is a narrowboat it is a cosy double. Next to the bed you have a small wardrobe and some built in drawers. One electric heater. The bathroom has a spacious shower cubicle, and heated towel rail, and obviously has a toilet and sink! The front bedroom has a double bed, double wardrobe with large drawers beneath that are built in, it has one electric heater, and an access door to the bow. Other things to note Unlike a house you will have some tasks to do during your stay like filling the fresh water tank occasionally. The steel hull means It can be quite warm during summer, but chilly through winter! During the colder months it is wise to use the wood burning stove for the living area (bring your own logs) use the electric heaters for bedroom/bathroom, and only switch the water heater on as required to save on electric. The mains electricity is provided by the marina and depending how long you are staying may need topping up at the office using the card provided which is on the boat. Mobile phone signal isn't fantastic when inside the boat, but the marina cafe has wifi available.
