The space Finken-Galerie: very close to Potsdam and Berlin & surrounded by forest and Havel lakes The Finkengalerie was awarded 4 stars by the German Tourism Association in 2026. Our Finkengalerie is about 80 m² and stylishly furnished. Many pictures by local artists on the walls create a special atmosphere. The extravagant entrance area leads you up the stairs to the upper floor, where you will find the living room, the work corner with a height-adjustable desk and the modern and bright bedroom with a comfortable bed for cuddling. The living room, converted into a gallery, is spacious yet cozy. A third person could also sleep on the high-quality sofa bed. The 58-inch TV is equipped with Netflix, Disney+, RTL+ and other entertainment channels and can therefore keep you well entertained. The bright and pleasant bathroom on the ground floor offers you both a bathtub and a shower as well as ample space for your own toiletries. The heated towel rail warms the towels provided if necessary. The modern kitchen is a dream come true for every amateur cook and is equipped with all necessities - we have deliberately omitted only a microwave. Opposite is a wonderful dining area, which develops its own magic, especially in the evening when the lights are on. The entire room opens onto a spacious terrace with lounge furniture and views of the garden – perfect for a dinner under the stars or relaxing hours next to our aviary. There you can hear and observe various birds, such as finches, diamond pigeons or quails. Very calming after a busy day. Our house contains three holiday apartments that are separated from each other. The terrace is completely at your sole disposal. In the basement there is a large laundry room with a washing machine, a dryer and plenty of space to hang laundry. This is available to all guests on request. You have an excellent infrastructure right in the village to take care of yourself completely. There is a Netto supermarket about 50 meters away and an excellent REWE market about 150 meters away on foot, which is open from Monday to Saturday from 7 AM to 10 PM. So if you're missing something for your meals, no problem. Directly across the street is a pharmacy and next to it a physiotherapy practice. There are various restaurants nearby, and we can give you, as our guests, recommendations as to which ones you should visit depending on your taste and budget. The town of Geltow, as part of the municipality of Schwielowsee, where the house and your vacation apartment are located, is over 1,000 years old and has an incredible amount of history, which is also directly linked to Potsdam and Berlin. You can explore the Einstein Museum, the cable ferry between Geltow and Caputh, the Handweaving Museum, Caputh Castle, the Petzow Church with the Haussee and many other attractions nearby and further afield. Upon arrival, we will provide you with a guest folder with many interesting excursion destinations both in the immediate surroundings and in Potsdam or Berlin, as well as the fastest routes to get there. Depending on whether you prefer to be in the city or in nature. It is precisely the combination of both that makes our location so attractive. Your apartment is an ideal location for cycling trips; the R1 Europa Cycling Route runs 300 meters away. As is often the case in the Havelland, you can follow in the footsteps of Fontane and Einstein on various cycling tours around the many Havel lakes. The bike path mostly runs directly along the shore of the lake, but also makes small detours into the surrounding area. Bikes and e-bikes can be rented for a fee if they are not currently being used by other guests. Therefore, you are welcome to reserve them with us in advance. Around us, there is plenty of water and forest with great cycling and hiking trails in the middle of nature. Various boat rentals in the area also allow for great hours or even whole days on the water. By bike, you can reach the water and the beach directly on Lake Petzin or Lake Schwielow in three minutes at the latest. Our home is also a perfect base for trips to Potsdam or Berlin. Within 15 minutes you are in the center of Potsdam by car or bus and can enjoy the many sights. You can get to the park and Sanssouci Palace almost just as quickly by bike. The bus stops are each only about 100 m away, so you can also travel to Werder/Havel or Potsdam in both directions. After about 15 minutes, you will be at the train station and in another 30 minutes, you will be in the middle of Berlin at the Zoologischer Garten with the Kurfürstendamm and the Memorial Church or at Berlin Central Station. And after a day of shopping at KaDeWe or sightseeing in Berlin, you can come back just as quickly and enjoy the tranquility surrounded by the forests and lakes of the Havelland just outside the city. One point that we would like to point out at the end: about 100 meters away as the crow flies, behind other gardens, there is a small transformer station that can be heard with a quiet hum in very quiet moments. This does not disturb anyone in the surrounding residential buildings while they are sleeping or relaxing in the garden, and so far it has not prevented our guests from having a relaxing stay. Guest access Our house contains three apartments that are separated from each other. In front of the house is a common parking space - each apartment has a parking space. The terrace from the kitchen is completely at your disposal. In the basement there is a large laundry room with a washing machine, a dryer and plenty of space to hang laundry. This is available to all guests on request. On the side of the house is the entrance to our Finkengalerie. After three steps there is the covered entrance. Bicycles and e-bikes can be safely parked on the property if you bring your own bikes.
