Whether you're here for a weekend escape or an extended work assignment, Molly's Manor provides a unique blend of vintage character and modern comforts. Molly’s Manor is named in memory of the owner’s maternal grandmother that migrated to the St. Louis area during the early 1900’s from Clarksdale, Mississippi. Seeking to escape Jim Crow Laws and overt racism in the south, Molly, her husband Harry and their 5 daughters settled in nearby Brooklyn, IL - an all-Black community founded by former slaves and a stop on the Underground Railroad. Molly was a full-time homemaker and part-time School Nurse while Harry worked as a Pullman Porter traveling from the world-renowned St. Louis Union Station to California for weekly trips. The guest house is tastefully decorated with many items from that era, reflecting the style and charm of Molly’s original home.
