The space This condo has been renovated, painted, and furnished with furnishings native to the Yucatán. It is the only apartment in Casita Blanca offering a direct ocean view from the master bedroom, so you can fall asleep listening to the gentle surf or wake up to the rising sun. There is a king-size bed in the master bedroom, plus an adjacent extra sleeping alcove with pullout couch; and a double bed in the second bedroom The bedrooms have abundant closet space and a safe for your valuables. The renovated kitchen is fully equipped (with filtered water, coffee maker, microwave, tiled countertops, stools, etc.), and the dining area can easily seat six people around the teak table. Step out onto the large balcony, nap in the lounge chair, or just drink in the view. The apartment has Wi-Fi, a CD and DVD player, as well as quality linens and towels, including extra beach towels. Casita Blanca is a small family-owned complex located directly on the ocean in the charming Mexican fishing village of Puerto Morelos. Enjoy Casita Blanca's beautiful gardens, tiled swimming pool, lounge chairs, palapas, and the fabulous beach where you can swim, kayak, and snorkel. Casita Blanca’s manager, Roberto, is a charming and friendly Spanish- and English-speaking host who will assist you with your vacation needs. A few blocks away is the town of Puerto Morelos, a hidden jewel-of-a-town unspoiled by over-development. You can watch the fishermen come in with their catches at the end of each day, or arrange for first-class diving or snorkeling along the coral reef, a few hundred yards offshore. The town also has very good local restaurants, a grocery store, an English-language bookstore, artisan markets, local spas and yoga classes. Need more action? Its an easy drive north to Cancún or south to Playa del Carmén for shops, crowds, and nightlife. Or, head south along the Riviera Maya to see its famed archaeological sites and ecological parks. Other things to note Additional things to do while staying in our condo: We can recommend an excellent dive shop in Puerto Morelos that provides diving or snorkeling along the second longest reef in the world (Mesoamerican Barrier Reef) 500 meters offshore from Casita Blanca. Available nearby are Eco Parks (Xcaret, etc. with native flora, fauna, surface and underground rivers and natural pools), pre-Columbian Mayan ruins (e.g., Tulum, Chichen Itza), and a reptile/crocodile zoo. Also found throughout the area are the cenotes, fresh water swimming holes formed by collision of an ancient meteor, and the foundation of the Mayan civilization.
