We are a private property on Booker's Dude Ranch, where you can also enjoy YOUR privacy and serenity of the country. Listen to the birds in the morning as the sun rises with a nice hot cup of fresh brewed coffee or your choice of herbal teas. At night, we have uninhibited views of the entire sky so you can truly enjoy a night under the stars and moonlight. The Texas Bighorn is a Heartland 5th Wheel RV unit situated on the quiet, country property of Booker's Dude Ranch in Henderson, Texas, home of the Heritage Syrup Festival. The property is perfect for quiet, private getaways under the stars. Wake up to the sounds of nature with our local bluebirds, mockingbirds, blue jays, and hummingbirds. Every now and again you will see a bald eagle or red-tailed hawk. Bring your horses for a nice ride and rest. Henderson hosts rodeos during the rodeo season and this is a great place for both you and your horse to stretch your legs. We have on-site bbq grills, playground, venue, and outdoor seating. Book a family reunion or corporate event at the venue and have your family or friends stay in the on-site lodging. If you come during the holiday season, we will even invite you over for a southern home cooked dinner with all the fixins. (Thanksgiving and Christmas). We offer big truck parking on the upper area of the property as well. Outside We are in a very natural setting with lots of trees. Many of the very large pine trees were planted by East Texas horseman Booker T. Washington, who was the original owner of the property. We also boasts large oak trees as well. You will find wildflowers, Red-Tailed Hawks, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Chickadees, Crows, and the occasional sighting of an American Bald Eagle. Pets love to run around the property and check out the scents and sounds. At night, the sky is unobstructed and you can enjoy a full view of the moon, stars, and planets. Our mornings are greeted with a full view of the sun rising up over the trees. Dusk allows you to enjoy full views of the setting sun towards the front of the property. We have grills and you are welcome to bring your own. There is a playground on the far left of the property where children can play. You can also use our volleyball net and mini basketball court. Picnic and cafe tables are spread throughout the property and near the RV's. The Bighorn Kitchen Kitchen equipped with propane powered stove and oven, electric microwave, and full refrigerator and freezer. If you are uncomfortable with propane, we have provided an electric hot plate. Cookware, paper plates, paper towel, napkins, and utensils are provided. Dishwashing supplies, drip coffee maker and mugs also provided. Living Room Equipped with two super comfy recliners and a sofa that transforms into a bed, surrounded by windows, a fireplace, and smart tv. Enjoy the complimentary snacks and bottled water. Clothing storage in room. Equipped with plugs for charging electronics and a tv. Bathroom Full size shower with closing door to enjoy a nice steam. Please use only the provided toilet paper as the sewer systems for RV's are not able to handle household paper products. I used to wake up to a horse staring into my window, waiting for a treat. We have a vast variety of Texas pine trees, oak trees, and many other native plants. Some of our pines are over 100 years old. You will see turtles, mockingbirds, cardinals, squirrels, Red-tailed Hawks, foxes, deer, the occasional American Bald Eagle, and a few other wild animals. At night, you may hear coyotes in the distance. Sometimes the deer walk right up to you. We have an uninhibited view of the night sky so you can see all of the stars, the moon, and some constellations. Booker's Dude Ranch is a great place to host a family reunion, old fashioned holiday dinner, or get hitched! We have a 4500 square foot fully enclosed facility with ac/heat, full kitchen, studio suite, auditorium, restrooms, and a playground. Tables and chairs are included for 120 people but more are available for rent. Prices start at only $750/day. Our location is only minutes away from farms, air balloon rides, airports, plantations, cafes, a dog park, hunting, and many other activities. Henderson is the home of the Annual Heritage Syrup Festival every November where you can see real syrup making, enjoy authentic fresh kettle corn right from the cast iron kettle, pick up a bag of fresh ground cornmeal, watch ladies spin wool into thread on real spinning wheels, watch a real blacksmith cast iron tools and horseshoes. Guest access Entire unit is for guest use. Parking near RV and designated spaces on property. Other things to note Absolutely No Smoking is allowed in the unit. If guests smoke, take special care to make sure the scent does not get into the RV. Lingering smoke scent will result in additional cleaning fees.
