Peggy's Perch is a fully renovated 1912 home in the heart of Locust Grove, OK. The home is on a small, dead end street. We have chosen each piece of furniture and art to make your trip comfortable and beautiful. Our one-story, home is minutes away from lakes, rivers, creeks, antiquing and is centrally located to annual festivals, including Rocklahoma and Born and Raised. Our small town includes many wonders. One is the Rural Oklahoma museum of Poetry. We’re just 30 miles from famous Route 66. The space Welcome to Wonder City Cottages Peggy’s Perch Address: 219 S. Locust St., Locust Grove, OK Please make yourselves at home! Have a look through the cupboards to familiarize yourself with the contents of the property. The property will be spotlessly clean. Extra towels are in the closet opposite the bathroom. Should you need a change of sheets or pillows, there are extras in the wardrobe in the green bedroom. We are responsible recyclers. Ninety percent of our furniture, art, and other features have been carefully selected to fill the space. However, the mattresses and box springs are brand new. If you find anything not to your satisfaction please inform us within the first 24-hours of arriving at the property. House information and check-out details are on the refrigerator. About This Space Peggy's Perch is a fully renovated 1912 home, one of the first built in the heart of Locust Grove, OK. It is on a quiet dead end street. Neighbors are on the north and west side of the cottage. A small cottage is the west side neighbor behind Peggy’s Perch. It has its own drive and parking. Windows and the door do not face this property. This small cottage, Ruby’s Roost, is another of our listings, behind Peggy’s Perch. Our unique cottages offer an experience in retro furnishings, artwork, and appliances. We have repurposed, upcycled, refurbished, and created much of the décor and furniture. Step back in time and enjoy the ambience of part museum, part art gallery, part treasure hunt. Everything has been carefully curated to provide a distinct, comfortable, inspirational vibe. There are many places to sit, counting the indoor and outdoor spaces. Each offers comfort and an inviting view. Our bungalow is minutes from lakes, rivers, and creeks and is centrally located to many annual festivals, including Rocklahoma and Born and Raised. Our small town includes many wonders. Inside the Property WiFi - Internet 100 Mg Fiber Password: Security & Doors Please make sure the kitchen door is locked and dead bolted. Exit the home through the front door. Turn the inside knob to the vertical position to lock. Kitchen You’ll find any kitchen item that you may need in our cheerful kitchen. The cupboards on the west wall and some lower cupboards are empty for you to store any grocery items you bring or purchase. Bedrooms The green bedroom includes a full-size bed and Purple mattress topper, a large wardrobe and nightstands for your use. The half bath is entered through this room. The blue, larger bedroom includes a queen-size bed with a Purple mattress topper, wardrobe, and nightstands for your use. The full bath is entered through this room. Living Room The aubergine living room has been carefully furnished for comfort and relaxation. The TV provides you with a wide variety of free programming. You may also login to your Prime, Netflix, etc. accounts if you choose. Enjoy the ambience of the soothing colors and vintage and folk art that adorn the space. Kitchen Our kitchen is light and lovely. Sit at the nook and enjoy the view. Coffee and tea are provided. The refrigerator and stove are large and useful if you chose to eat in. The two ovens and two burners on the right of the Frigidaire Flair work. Two electric skillets are provided too. Dishes, flatware, pots and pans, and spices are provided. The washer and dryer are in this space. Detergent and dryer balls are provided. Do not use liquid softener. Bathroom The unique bathrooms are full of amenities. Both are entered through the bedrooms. One is a full bath, and the other is a half bath. Outdoor furniture, balconies etc. We have provided outdoor seating on the large front porch. Watch the birds feed and hear them sing while you swing on the front porch. The back yard patio seating area is covered. Please enjoy. Smoking Smoking is permitted outside only. We have provided ashtrays. Please empty them with other rubbish when you check out. Towels We have provided plush towels and plenty to use during your stay. When you depart please place any used towels inside the bathtub. Parking Park parallel to the front of the home or next to the trees on the south side. There is no covered parking. The neighbors’ driveway is on the north side and not available to guests. Miscellaneous The breaker box is behind the Aspen art print on the north wall in the parlor. TV batteries, if needed, are in the top right drawer of the TV console. A cellar is in the backyard should you need it. Heating & Air Conditioning The thermostat for heating and cooling is located in the living room. Please follow the house rules posted on the refrigerator for settings. Trash You’ll find rubbish cans behind the house. Put your trash bags there as needed and when checking out. Make sure all trash is in bags. If you're staying on a Tuesday, please pull the bin to the road for trash pickup. Check out Strip used beds. Put used towels in the bathtub. Wash all dishes. Set the thermostat to 78 during warm months and 65 during cold ones. Remove all perishable food items. Place trash in bags in the receptacle behind the house. Lock the kitchen door including the deadbolt, and lock the front door according to the keypad directions. The Neighborhood Supermarkets Walmart and Dollar General are less than a mile away. There are also several convenience stores nearby. Restaurants & Bars We have several restaurants in town. Country Cottage, LaMansion Mexican, Ranch House Pizza, Mazzio’s, Tatted Pig BBQ food truck, Sonic Drive-In, Wonder City Coffee, Cowboys in Peggs, OK. Local Attractions For a small town, we have some grand attractions: Rural Oklahoma Museum of Poetry, Pipe Springs, ROMP Rummage, the Public Library, The Willard Stone Museum (open by appt.) and so much more. Several antique and thrift stores are in the surrounding towns. Emergency Information Hospital Hillcrest Hospital is located in Pryor at 111 N. Bailey. Access Medical Center Urgent Care is located in Pryor at 4115 Redden. Axis Health Care Urgent Care is located in Pryor at 211 S. Mill St. Police The Locust Grove Police Department is located at 103 S. Broadway. Doctors Community Physicians Group doctors are just a block away at 609 E. Main. Guest access Guests have access to everything in the home except for a storage closet in the blue bedroom. The sofa bed is only to be used if the additional charge is paid for as many as 6 guests. Other things to note The 1152 square foot home, built in 1912, has been fully renovated recently. We have made every effort to make it homey and relaxing for your stay. Ninety percent of the art and furnishings are vintage finds. Peggy’s Perch is amazingly beautiful and a perfect place for a getaway or special occasion. Tulsa is 45 miles west, Chouteau is 10 miles west and has scores of antique shops, Tahlequah is 25 miles south, Fayetteville is 60 miles east, Vinita is 30 miles north. The Pryor golf course is 8 miles away. The MidAmerican industrial park is 6 miles away. There are 3 parks in town, one of which, is a block away. We have a basketball if you want to shoot some hoops at the park. For day trips, many cities and towns are close by, and Locust Grove offers many attractions for a small town. There is a queen sleeper/sofa in the parlor. An additional charge for 1 or 2 extra guests is available if your need accommodations for as many as 6 guests per night. The sofa bed may only be used for the additional guests.
