Dreamy Cabin with Sea Views in Northeast Iceland
Dreamy cabin with a garden
Description
Dreamy Cabin sits on the quiet edge of Bakkafjörður, a tiny village in northeast Iceland surrounded by hills, sea views, and open landscape. It’s a simple, peaceful place where you can slow down, breathe, and enjoy the stillness of nature. Whether you arrive after exploring Langanes or driving the scenic coastal route, the cabin is easy to reach year-round and offers a warm, comfortable rest in any season. The space The cabin is cozy, bright, and filled with natural light. It offers modern amenities while keeping the charm of a traditional Icelandic summer house. Each room is heated, so the space stays comfortable throughout the year. In summer, the days stretch long and the surrounding landscape feels open and peaceful. In winter, the village becomes quiet and the nights grow dark, creating ideal conditions for northern lights and a slower pace of life. From the windows, porch, and garden, you’ll enjoy wide views toward the sea and the Langanes peninsula. The area is quiet and rich with birdlife, and whales are often spotted from the shoreline. Large windows make the space bright by day, and on clear winter nights you can sometimes watch the northern lights right from the porch or garden. No driving required. Inside, the cabin has two bedrooms, a gallery loft with two single beds, and a sleeper sofa in the living room, making it suitable for couples, friends, or families with children. A separate laundry room is available for guests and includes a washing machine and dryer. The fully equipped kitchen includes stainless-steel appliances, an electric oven, a refrigerator with a small freezer, a coffee machine, a moka pot, a toaster, a kettle, and a small food processor. Outside, the large wooden deck is a peaceful place to sit, enjoy a meal, read, or simply take in the surroundings throughout the year. In summer, guests can also use the small outdoor grill on the deck. Behind the cabin, a small hillside garden offers a peaceful spot and a crafted collection of Icelandic wild herbs. Guest access Guests have full access to the cabin, the garden, the outdoor deck, and the small summer grill area. The cabin sits just off Route 85, the scenic coastal road that connects directly to the Ring Road. It’s easy to reach whether you are arriving from the east or the west, and the road is paved and maintained throughout the year. A 4x4 vehicle with proper winter tires is recommended in winter, as conditions can change quickly. Before your arrival, I will stay in touch if weather or road conditions shift. Check-in is simple and contactless, and I am always available if you need anything during your stay. Other things to note Guests can enjoy high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the cabin, and there is plenty of parking space directly in front of the house. Smoking is not allowed indoors, but you are welcome to smoke outside on the deck. Pets are not permitted. Early check-in or late check-out may be possible depending on other bookings. Bakkafjörður is a small village with limited services. There is no grocery shop in the village, so it’s best to bring food with you. The nearest supermarkets are in Vopnafjörður (30 km) and Þórshöfn (40 km). The village does have a self-service gas station, an electric car charging point, and a small restaurant that operates during the summer months. Bakkafjörður is also one of the first (or last) stops on the Arctic Coast Way, a scenic coastal route along the north of Iceland.
