This cozy, light and airy backyard cottage is the perfect get-away in North Berkeley, a short walk from tons of shops, theaters and restaurants and 2 blocks from a BART (subway) station and bus stops. And about a mile away is the Berkeley Amtrak stop that will take you straight to Levi’s Stadium or to Sacramento. Easy to get around and fill your day with delights! The space The cottage features vaulted ceilings, a skylight (with light-blocking shade) and multiple windows that create an open, light-filled space. A wall mounted heater warms the cottage. The bathroom's shower has a light and fan. The kitchenette offers a microwave, coffee-maker and refrigerator — no stove, oven, or kitchen sink. (There's a sink in the bathroom.) Located in our fairly secluded backyard, the cottage is part of our home life. We ask that renters keep a relatively low profile in terms of noise. However, you are welcome to spend time in the private patio area that faces the cottage. Other things to note This listing is registered with the city of Berkeley: ZCSTR2019-0760. Berkeley prohibits smoking in multi-unit residential housing: Smoking is prohibited in all units and common areas of multi-unit housing, i.e., buildings with two or more units (e.g., apartments, co-ops, condominiums, common interest developments, etc.). This includes the private decks, balconies, and porches of units. (For more information regarding this ordinance please refer to the Section 12.70.035 of the Berkeley Municipal Code) Berkeley has a Noise Ordinance: In order to be considerate of residents, City of Berkeley prohibits any loud and unnecessary noise in all residential districts. This applies to noise both within and outside your unit and includes noise from such things as parties, amplified music and radios. Noise levels must decrease after 10:00 P.M. (For more information regarding this ordinance please refer to the Section 13.40 of the Berkeley Municipal Code) Berkeley encourages recycling: Berkeley has a recycling program with: 1) Blue bin: paper and cardboard (brown lid). Bottles, cans, aluminum foil, rigid plastic containers (blue lid) & 2) Green compost bin: Food scraps, soiled paper, and plant trimmings.
