Description
Welcome to our home space... we’ve been busy totally redecorating, it’s so pretty we can’t wait to show you! A quiet peaceful location, kick back & enjoy. With an award winning pub on the doorstep, literally a 3 minute walk .. the gardens are pretty, with the fresh running stream, home to our ducks. We are at the foot of May Hill, a beautiful natural area for walking & exploring. A new hottub is now available and is now under cover so even rainy days can be enjoyed . The space This annexe is freshly decorated creating a space to relax and enjoy , & hopefully you'll find everything to a high standard. We are strictly NO SMOKING , this means the outside space as well as the property. If you wish to smoke you will need to go outside the gates please. Although we have a strict cancellation policy we understand fully that things don’t always go to plan , we will always do our best to ensure you get your money back if you have to cancel , or at the very least you can move your booking should you genuinely need to. It's all fresh & clean and redecorated and ready to welcome you. If there is anything we can do to help your stay along, just give us a shout, we're usually around. A travel cot can be provided, so non-mobile babies would be fine, and we’ve just replaced the fridge so our guests have an icebox available for frozen food or simply ice cubes The annexe has a spacious bathroom with a deep semi free standing luxurious bath, there is NO shower , a double bedroom, fully functional and fitted kitchen and a lounge/dining area with an electric wood burner, there is also central heating and plenty of hot water. The Private Hot tub - a new hottub Is now installed and is now under cover so even rainy days can be enjoyed - be sure to give notice if you’d like to use it . At the end of your stay we respectfully ask that our guests strip their bed linen and put all used towels in the linen bin provided, we're sorry if this offends you and hope that you understand. We are set at the foot of May Hill in a very scenic and rural location on the edge of the Forest of Dean. We have The Farmers Boy, an award winning pub right on our door step, (more Pie awards in 2025) which many of our guests have used and thoroughly enjoyed, the Tea Rooms at the Fairview Garden Centre will not disappoint and can cater for GF, and DF amongst other requirements, and The Yew Tree in Longhope offer a fabulous home cooked menu with a very welcoming atmosphere. Depending on what you are looking for - there are lots of walks around following public foot paths and some beautiful scenery to take in. Bicycles can be hired in the Forest of Dean, there are many tracks to follow through the forest. We are about 6 miles away from the Market town of Ross on Wye where I believe paddle boarding and canoeing are available on the River Wye, although I think you would need to book in advance. Tintern Abbey is beautiful for a mosey around the ruins, Chepstow Castle too is not a million miles away. Monmouth is another lovely Market town on the River Mono I believe and very quaint with coffee shops, eating houses and pubs. In opposite directions of each other, the small city of Hereford with its beautiful Cathedral holding the Hereford Mappa Mundi, one of the worlds unique medieval treasures, and Cheltenham Spa are both lovely for shopping and site seeing. Gloucester being 9 miles away has the historic docks, often with Tall Ships, an abundance of restaurants in the docklands and the outlet Designer Mall. Gloucester Cathedral famed for the filming of Harry Potter amongst many other things is certainly worth a visit. Often there is a Victorian Christmas Market hosted at the Docks, or Food Festivals celebrating cuisine from around the world. Guest access Plenty of parking on our private drive, and just a couple of steps into the annexe. We're not on a bus route, but the local pub & restaurant is 3 minutes away, there's a village shop & post office too, open daily in the summer months until 8pm - (Sundays 4pm). Longhope also has a fabulous artisan bakery, which I believe is open Weds to Sat, with all freshly baked goods, breads, croissants, pastries and many other delicious offerings, the bakery is under a mile away. The Yew Tree Inn is about a Mile away , newly opened with excellent food and a super breakfast We're just 6 miles from Ross on Wye, or 9 from Gloucester along the A40 Other things to note Let us know if you are celebrating anything special and would like Flowers, Cakes, Champagne etc, payment would be required in advance, but we can happily arrange most things.
