We offer room in XIX century house, build by El patron, Spanish owner of local ex textile factory. Now house is a part of Kichwa Culture museum (Museo Viviente Otavalango). Room has extra large size, 2 big begs, antique furniture. Area is quiet and safe. Walking distance to Plaza de Ponchos, famous market place is only 25 min. You are literally going to live in a museum, so you will learn a lot about the indigenous Kichwa culture, traditions, life, clothes, language, handicraft, history etc. The space We are Luzmila and René, responsible for our project. It's a community project of 21 indigenous Kichwa families. In 2011, we bought an old textile factory, where for centuries Kichwa workers were exploited and abused, and turned it into a vivid center of Kichwa culture, including a Living Museum of customs and traditions. We receive tourists to share with them our knowledge of our traditions, and started recently during the pandemic to dedicate ourselves to organic gardening, producing vegetables and fruits for the families of the project and also for our farm animals. Our house used to be house of El Patron, Spanish owner of this ex-factory. Guest access you can enter to every common space in huuse. During your stay This is a big family house, we Rene and Luzmila living here with our 2 sons, daughter in law. We all speak Spanish. One of our sons speaks English. Other things to note We speak Spanish and one of our children speaks a little English
