Relax e comfort. The apartment "La Quercia" (twin of "Il Tiglio on the ground floor) is located on the first floor of a newly built building with fine finishes. Made in 2022, it was never inhabited before the listing (2024). While ensuring unitary usability, the accommodation offers the possibility of flexible management of the premises, thanks to the independent access (to and from the outside) of one of the two rooms (with en-suite bathroom) that makes the rooms equipped with functional autonomy. The space The apartment consists of: · two comfortable double rooms (double bed) with attached toilets for exclusive use; · of a large living room/kitchen with dining table (in these spaces there is the possibility of accommodation of an additional two additional beds – reaching six total beds – upon preparation of the sofa bed for reservations related to 5 or 6 guests) · an outdoor balcony, with livable space on the front, and a back garden. THE APARTMENT Inspired by the grove overlooking a spontaneous forest of Macchia Mediterranea, Tiglio and Quercia, the apartment "La Quercia", located on the first floor, while guaranteeing the unitary usability of the accommodation, offers the possibility of flexible management of the premises, thanks to the independent access (to and from the outside) of the rooms of the apartment, equipped with an exclusive and integrated bathroom that makes them in everything with functional autonomy. The apartment has been designed and built with another apartment (Il Tiglio). The two apartments have been designed and connected in such a way as to allow, without prejudice to the total independence of the spaces of each unit, the possibility, through the unlocking of an internal door, to be used jointly and express a potential receptive of between 8 and 12 beds. LOCATION FEATURES AND BENEFITS The property is enriched by elements of a territorial context. The location is in fact in the territory of the Municipality of Gagliano del Capo, a coastal village that constitutes, together with the neighboring Municipality of Castrignano del Capo, the extreme south of the Salento peninsula, divided between the two countries: with Gagliano del Capo to the east (on the Adriatic side) and with Castrignano del Capo to the west (on the Ionian side). More specifically, the building is in an ideal and strategic position for the tourist who has in mind a full knowledge of the Salento territory, as it is located on the edge of the urban agglomeration, on the rural borders that divide the villages of Gagliano del Capo and Castrignano del Capo in which you can immediately immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the typical "dry walls" and the ancient "clown" characteristics, built in blocks of hand shaped stone with the ancient technique of the "mannara", all walking or cycling among the fantastic country roads that weave in an evocative and emotional setting in a quiet that gratifies the body and spirit. The accommodations overlook Via della Repubblica that flows (40 meters away) into the main Salento artery (SS 275) and in turn allows you to reach in a few minutes all the main coastal and bathing sites both on the Adriatic side (rocky coast and marine speleological complex) and on the Ionian side (bathing beaches and fine sand beaches) in just a few minutes. GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE MUNICIPALITY OF GAGLIANO DEL CAPO Gagliano del Capo is a small center of the Cape of Leuca inhabited by 4,850 souls (but with strong peaks of tourist turnout in the summer season) with a nice view of the Adriatic coast (8 km of coastline belonging to the municipality). History Country dating back to the 2nd century BC The name of Gagliano is of Latin descent, according to tradition this land would have belonged to a Roman soldier named Gallo. The country has two hamlets: Arigliano, from the Latin Ager Galiani, San Dana, a village that takes its name from the Holy Martyr of the Christian Era, as well as the renowned marina in the town of Ciolo. To visit: Chiesa di San Rocco (1574). Originally dedicated to Our Lady Assumption, it was then referred to San Rocco, named Patron for his intercession during the epidemic of plague spread in the 1800s. The building has numerous canvases by various Salento painters. Among the most important: Canela della Vergine con le Anime Purganti (1771) work by Oronzo Tiso; canvas of the Virgin of the Rosary (1614) of the School of Giandomenico Catalano; Fabric of S.Oronzo (18th century); Canvas of San Domenico in Gloria (1778) by Saverio Lillo, canvas of the Virgin of Carmine with Saints Carlo Borromeo and Giacinto (1778) by Saverio Lillo; Fabric of the Eternal Father (1771) by Oronzo Tiso. Other places not to be missed are the Sanctuary of San Francesco, the Convent of San Francesco, a Mehnir of the Paleolithic Era, the Crypt of Santa Apollonia, in addition to the evocative paths that from the village lead to the sea and around which cave caves with archaeological finds open and delicate ecosystems develop. For art lovers, a visit to Palazzo Ciardo, the birthplace of the famous Salento painter Vincenzo Ciardo, who currently houses the parish oratory, is next to the Matrice church. The Palace was built in 1900 on the ruins of the old baronial castle, of which there was only a tower with a large cistern at the base.
