The space You’ll feel immersed in nature, in an isolated part of Waikato’s west coast. Enjoy expansive views across lush native bush towards the ocean from the viewing platform just a few steps from your door. The exclusive-use barrel sauna will help you completely unwind during your stay, custom-made with a full glass front to showcase this incredible outlook. With sauna use included, this stay represents great value for money! Fall asleep to the sound of crashing waves in a comfortable queen-size bed. Wake to birdsong and enjoy a coffee from your in-room Nespresso machine, with locally roasted Raglan Roast pods provided. Staying at Barrelled Wines is more than simply booking a room—you’ll be staying within Raglan’s only vineyard and winery, surrounded by vines and rolling coastal countryside. During your stay, you can book our self-guided Shelter experience, featuring five estate-grown wine tastings and a vineyard WineWalk, or enjoy our popular guest-only wine tasting platter, delivered directly to your accommodation. Our small-production Syrah, Rosé and Pinot Gris are grown, made and bottled here on the property, with bottles available to purchase while stocks last. As we are some distance from any restaurants (Raglan is your closest town), we recommend coming prepared so you can embrace this opportunity to feel totally removed from the world! You can take advantage of the barbecue provided, or the studio also features a kitchenette with a single plug-in hob, microwave, fridge, sink and all the basic utensils. Alternatively, our guest-only wine and platter is usually available to order and will be delivered directly to your accommodation. Tea and coffee is provided, and our filtered tap water is safe to drink. Limited reception offers a chance to disconnect, however free high-speed WiFi is available to guests. The room has a 55 inch TV with Netflix available for guest use. With a stash of books, magazines and board games, you’ll find plenty of ways to make the most of some quiet down time. There are a host of outdoor activities nearby including surfing, hiking up Mt Karioi or around Te Toto Gorge, visiting Bridal Veil Falls, sightseeing along the coast and mountain biking along Whaanga Coastal Road. As this is a working vineyard, noisy activities such as spraying may be undertaken at times. Guest access Parking space down driveway in front of our garage to the far right (when looking at the garage door) - look out for the "Barrique Parking" sign. Feel free to walk around our property including the vineyard. While it’s a journey worth taking, there is 4km of gravel road to reach us. It adds to the charm of our remote location, but if you’re not comfortable with driving your vehicle on gravel, this may not be the right accommodation for you. Other things to note Guests can arrange sauna sessions by messaging us - robes are also provided for that extra touch of luxury! Things to note if you've booked in with your pooch: - Must be house-trained - No pets on furniture/beds - Please bring your pet's blankets and their pet bed (and crate if using) - Our friendly golden retriever, Daisy, may stop by to say hello to your dog once or twice during your stay We know that you’re here to embrace the magic of a more isolated escape. So, while our family (including our lovely natured golden retriever dog) live in the main house in front of your accommodation, we ensure you have the space to enjoy this peaceful location with privacy.
