Deer Meadow Cabin in South Dakota's beautiful Black Hills. The 5.25 acre property is surrounded on three sides by the Black Hills National Forest and is close to several National Park facilities and many other Black Hills attractions. Your hosts, Joe and Carol We continued to host at Deer Meadow Cabin through all the coronavirus pandemic. Between guests, we follow a thorough cleaning, using Airbnb’s sanitizing suggestions. We personally have had all our COVID immunizations. Cabin decor guesthouse adjacent to our home, all on one level, decorated in a Northwoods theme. One studio-type bedroom sleeps two on a double bed. Private bathroom with shower; full-size washer and dryer; iron and ironing board. Bed linens and towels are provided. WiFi; 43" TV for streaming; DVD player; AM/FM radio. Electric heat. All utilities are included. As an all-electric facility, no carbon monoxide detector is required or necessary. No air conditioning, but many accommodations in this area don't have this, as it's not necessary. We don't have or need air conditioning in the main house. Even on the hottest days, the altitude and surrounding forest provide lower night-time temperatures for comfortable sleeping. Closing the windows during the day preserves the cooler air. Full kitchen with dinnerware/cookware/utensils, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, crockpot, blender, electric range, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, and island with stools. Patio with chairs, picnic table, and gas grill in season. Everything you need to just move right in. Will you have occasion to conduct business while on vacation or are you staying longer while working remotely? In addition to WiFi in the cabin, we provide free use of the printer, copier, scanner, and FAX machine in the main house. Plenty of outdoor parking for vehicles and trailers. Covered parking available for one vehicle and motorcycles. In addition to the guesthouse, its patio, and the carport, you'll have access to all the open areas of our 5.25 acre property. We're here to help with any questions, suggestions, or other items as needed. Enjoy hiking and exploring in the adjacent Black Hills National Forest. We're within 5-20 minutes to Mickelson Trail, Custer State Park, Jewel Cave National Monument, Crazy Horse Monument, five lakes, fishing, boating, swimming, golf, hiking, biking, horse trails, restaurants, shops. Also near Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Wind Cave National Park, and Sheridan and Pactola Lakes. Public transportation: Intercity bus service and air transportation in and out of Rapid City, South Dakota, 50 miles northeast of Custer. Custer has no public transportation. Custer airport is for private planes only. Hunters and fishermen are always welcome, but no hunting on the premises. Smoking is only allowed outside on the concrete patio. We love dogs, but pets are not allowed due to allergy issues for future guests.
