Breathe Easy in Bayside (Peggy's Cove area)

Let Breathe Easy be your oasis, safe place for a close-to-home staycation, quiet place to self-isolate or to just unwind & take a break from the everyday, inhale the salty air & relax by the ocean. Located halfway between Halifax & the breathtaking Peggy’s Cove, close proximity to hiking biking trails and situated on the majestic Atlantic Ocean & yet, only 20 minutes to Halifax or Peggy’s Cove. The space Sleeping arrangements The beds available are as listed in the AirBnB platform : 1) a Queen size bed in the bedroom, 2) a fold-down sofabed (slightly smaller than a double bed and suitable for two small adults, teenagers, or children) in the living room, along with, 3) a single futon (which doubles as a chair when bed is not in use). CLEANING PROTOCOL We clean to COVID standards in between each stay. High touch surfaces such as spice jars, fridge, stove, door, the coffee maker/french press, microwave handles, pens & pencils and condiment bottles are always sanitized before your stay. All linens used are cleaned on the Sanitary (high heat) setting. Deck/Patio Is completely yours to use during your stay. Our home is connected via door to the deck. Rest assured, your comfort and privacy is our utmost priority. We utilize this door to access the B&B to clean it. Smoking Smoking of any kind, is not permitted in the AirBnB. An ashtray can be provided to use on the deck, please let us know if you need one. As well, please ensure all cigarette/cigar/blunt butts are fully extinguished and left in the ashtray. Kitchen: You will find a well outfitted Kitchen within the Suite along with full-size appliances. The kitchen includes pots, pans, cutlery & glasses. Also provided are a decent selection of Epicure (TM) spices for your meal prepping convenience. You will also find fresh, locally roasted coffee beans, orange pekoe tea bags, a wide variety of herbal teas, & hot chocolate, a coffee grinder, hot water kettle, a regular drip coffee maker and a French Press. Children Children are welcome. We ask you you ensure their safety by allowing them to steer clear of the dishes on the open shelves (an indoor gate will be provided for those 3 and under). Children under the age of 2. **PLEASE ADVISE if you require a playpen/high chair seat. Noise/Behaviour Please be mindful of noise as our home is alongside the apartment. Parties will not be tolerated, will be shut down by the RCMP. As well, the Breathe Easy AirB&B shares the backyard with our family, please respect/treat this as you would during a visit to a good friend’s place. Alcohol & Cannabis The legal drinking/cannabis consumption age in Nova Scotia is 19. We do not condone underage drinking/cannabis use, no matter who has purchased your alcohol or cannabis. There is also no smoking/vaping in Breathe Easy Apartment. Please be aware, behavior in contravention of our AirBnB “rules” may result in cancellation of your reservation/stay. Water We utilize a well for our water source at Breathe Easy, we kindly ask you to conserve your water usage. Drinking water is provided through a reverse osmosis tap or bottled water. Laundry Our family HE washer/dryer is available for your use for an additional fee of $20. You will be asked if this is required before your arrival. Sanitizer/rag will be provided to wipe down any touched areas in the laundry room. Breakfast* During the high season (Summer/Fall - June to September inclusive) homemade Granola, and/or biscuits, milk, coffee, tea, sugar, butter, homemade jam, are provided. Condiments (soya sauce, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, relish & maple syrup) & Epicure (TM) spices are stocked year round. *Breakfast is not be provided for reservations over 10 days. Groceries Feel free to send us a grocery and/or NSLC (only if you are >19) list and we can stock your cupboards before your quarantine arrival. We can also do a mid stay grocery delivery as well, all free of charge. :) For self-isolation stays, we will do a grocery run for your second week. Celebrations 🥳🎉 Celebrating something special? Let us know what the occasion is and we can add a special touch! 🎉🥳 Guest access Bring your water shoes and a sense of adventure. There are stairs to the water to wade in the shallow water or to launch your kayak from (Just be careful as they get slippery from the elements). There is much coastline to explore in the area and an amazing amount of fowl in the marsh “in front” of our backyard. Bring your kayak/life jacket to explore. A trampoline and a play structure/swing set is available to use on site. We cannot guarantee the integrity of the trampo-line’s mesh enclosure at this time. Please Note: You will need to supervise your child(ren) on any of this play equipment. Other things to note Grab you groceries from Halifax (20 minutes away). We are halfway between Halifax & Peggy’s Cove. There are limited restaurants in the area. Ryer’s Seafood sells fresh lobster/mussels 20 minutes away or have it cooked for you at Peggy’s Cove. Fishing from the Gov’t wharf 3 minutes away, lots of water fowl to observe. There are three friendly, family dogs that live in the main house. The Beagle, Wheeler, and two Australian Shepherd/cattle dogs, Irwin, the white one (who is deaf) and Maggie, the sweet, grey one, love to be scratched behind the ears and have their bellies rubbed. :) Craving a lobster dinner? Pick up your own Lobster to cook in your kitchen and for an additional $20 we can provide your group with homemade potato salad and rolls to round off your own traditional Lobster boil.
