A seafront house on Aegina island, only a 40 min ferry from Athens. Peaceful location 7 min from Port. A 3 storey house on a 1.5 acre estate next to the sea - with sand-bottom ocean for swimming. The space LIVING SPACE: It is a traditional family home with a bright kitchen, lounge, dining area on a single floor, with ocean views from every window. The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware and servery to prepare delicious meals from locally sourced ingredients, and includes a drip-coffee maker. The lounge has two large couches, ceiling fan, a smart TV and unlimited Wi-Fi. The dining table seats up to 8 people comfortably, with expandable leaves in the table. SLEEPING SPACE: The home boasts 4 spacious bedrooms which comfortably sleep 8 adult guests – one bedroom on the upper living level and three bedrooms on the lower level. One of the downstairs bedrooms has private access to an outdoor terrace with lovely ocean-views. Three bedrooms have wardrobes for comfortable clothes storage. Two bedrooms are air conditioned. BATHROOMS: The home has 2 full bathrooms – one on each floor. One bathroom has a shower over bath, the other a shower. WORKSPACE: Two of the bedrooms also have work desks - one of which is quite large and good for productivity. The large one even includes an external monitor, keyboard and mouse for your use. OUTDOOR SPACE: The large terrace off the upstairs living space has expansive 180 degree ocean views ringed with mountains, which are spectacular at sunset. It offers some sun and some shade throughout the day, year-round. There is also a sunny back porch (wonderful in winter) and a separate summer kitchen which can be used as alternative outdoor spaces. There is an outdoor shower to rinse off after swimming. Our gardens are full of established fruit and nut trees. It is also a wilding space where polinator flowers are allowed to grow freely in winter and spring, and lovely native grasses in summer. LAUNDRY: There is a separate laundry downstairs with washer. There are large outdoor clothes lines, and a free-standing drying rack as well. BEDDING: There are two bedrooms with queen size beds. The other two bedrooms can be made up as two single beds, or as one large king size bed in each. Your preference should be specified at the time of booking. There is also a cot, for infants. THINGS TO DO: The island has pretty pine forest hikes with spectacular ocean views, as well a hiking in an ancient olive grove with 300 year old trees. The islands main port has fantastic drinking and dining options, but there are also some favourite lesser known tavernas on the island. Discover historical sites such as the Temple of Aphaia to appreciate Aegina’s rich past as the Greek capital. There are loads of secluded beaches and bays to explore, as well as serviced beaches with drinks and snacks delivered to your sun-lounge. More information provided in the detailed house guide after check-in. Guest access HOST: You will be met at the house by your lovely host Sandy. OWNERS EXCLUSIVE USE: There is an additional attic area upstairs which is locked and reserved exclusively for the owners use, which guests do not have access to through the stay. The lower two storeys of the property are available in their entirety to guests. There are also two cabinets, containing owners belongings, which will be locked throughout the stay for their exclusive use. ACCESS INTERNALLY: There is a spiral staircase to get between the two floors internally. It is not suitable for those with mobility issues. Each floor can however be accessed independently by external doors from outside the property. ACCESS EXTERNALLY: The top floor is accessed externally by a wide stable concrete staircase from the outside onto the back porch. The lower floor is accessed without stairs from an exterior door.
