Great rainbow trout fishing, many have caught 10 fish in just a couple of hours right off our dock! Visits from our resident moose are quite exciting! Canoe Lake boarders the Palmer Hay Flats State Game Refuge which is rich with wild life; moose, wolf, beaver, salmon streams, nesting eagles, osprey, owls, water fowl, & migratory birds. The chalet has 2 stories of beautifully furnished luxury living with 3 bedrooms , 2.5 baths & laundry. High vaulted ceilings provide open atmosphere over the living room/dining room. Relax and dine while you watch eagles soar over the panoramic mountain views through large picture windows. Walk out onto your private deck the looks over the lake, and BBQ fresh Alaska salmon. The extra-large kitchen is stocked and ready with cooking essentials for family meals. .1 MASTER SUITE is on the main floor sleeps 2 . Decorated in romantic Victorian style with a comfortable California king size bedTV/DVD, and door leading to the deck. A private bath with an extra-large claw-foot soaking tub (big enough for 2), plus a separate shower, and large vanity with double sinks. ***The UPSTAIRS: An elegant staircase leads to the top story overlooking the main living area below. The den has a couch with a twin size hide-a-bed and a queen size futon for additional sleeping for 3 to 4. We have a large flat screen TV/DVD, ROKU, and a wide variety of DVD’s, video and board games. A shared bath with tub/shower unit is right off the den. 2. The DUCK ROOM – Located upstairs sleeps 2 to 4 : Has queen bed & full size futon 3. THE IDITAROD ROOM Located in the upstairs. Sleeps 4 . This large room has 4 twin beds offers a choice of sleeping options: twins side by side, or 2 twins can be converted into a king size bed wit a comfortable memory foam topper There is a shared bathroom upstairs . For our younger guests we provide a pack-n-play, crib mattress, high chair-rocking horse, baskets full of plush Alaskan animal toys and lots of books for children and youth. Our large library has the most popular Alaskana books rich in stories, history, and scenic beauty of our region. We provide a wide variety of DVDs and family board games, ROKU , Wifi and cable TV Note: the hosts spend most of their summers in Talkeetna (1.5 hrs north) running their VW bus photo business & store . They travel down to the chalet and stay periodically to do grounds work and stay in their private basement apartment which is totally separate and with no shared spaces including private deck & entrance. You most likely wont be able to meet them unless you travel up to Talkeetna. Guest access The Chalet Eagles Nest is with private use with private deck, grounds and lakefront , boats and fishing gear, lawn games. 1/2 mile from mile 38 Glenn Hwy on a paved well maintained road. Hosts periodically come and stay in lower unit which is private with separate living space & private deck and entrance not shared with guests . Hosts do not intrude on guests privacy yet are available for assistance or advice while they are there . Other things to note To ensure the safety of our guests during the COVID pandemic, we have upgraded standard cleaning protocols to comply with the CDC and WHO comprehensive cleaning and disinfecting guidelines. PPE and EPA approved disinfectants, cleaners, antibacterial soaps are used to sanitize pre-stay and during stay.
