1400 sq ft 2-level home with all modern conveniences (satellite TV, dvd/blueray, high speed WIFI, washer & dryer, hair dryer, iron & board, modern kitchen appliances including dishwasher and range with Induction cook top). It's perched above one of the most beautiful lake sites around: quiet and serene, off the beaten path but just a 10 minute drive from Soldotna. We are mid-way between the Kenai and Kasilof rivers - both world class fisheries, and a short scenic drive from charming Cook Inlet fishing ports: Homer, Deep Creek and Anchor River. The main floor features a private master bedroom with queen bed, a full bathroom, an open combo kitchen/dining/living area, all with stunning lake views, and a deck, also overlooking the lake, with Gas Grill, 4 chairs with small tables. Downstairs you'll find a bedroom with queen bed (lake view), a half bathroom, and a large bedroom/rec room, with tables, chairs and twin beds. A short downhill walk takes you to the lake shore, where you can hang out at the fire pit, with benches, or paddle the free canoe to explore Hope Lake, and smaller Ranchero Lake via a short canal. Wildlife is abundant in and around the lakes, and we can help you plan your adventures farther afield, including river and marine fishing charters, hiking, wildlife viewing, glacier/wildlife cruises and much more. The owners live a short distance down the lake shore through a small woodlot. They are long-time Alaskans with extensive knowledge of the Kenai Peninsula and many other parts of Alaska, which they love to share!
