Come and enjoy sunrises and sunsets. Complete peace and quiet with only the sounds of birds. Please remember to look at the stars! It’s definitely a cozy cabin not a "lake home". The cabin is located in Balsam Lake Wisconsin on White Ash Lake. Perfect for relaxing and kayaking. The kayaks should be launched at the public landing. The cabin does not have a dock. You deserve to put your feet up and stay awhile. The whole cabin and acre of land is yours to enjoy. Up to two dogs are allowed, with respect of house rules. Please be advised there are bugs outside we do not spray chemicals. We also get the occasion mouse being out in the country. We use humane traps to the best of our ability. There is a fire pit (we do not provide a grill). Bring wood, get some around the cabin or buy some at the general store (2min away.) There are many lakes with different varieties of fish within 10 minutes of the cabin. There is also a public landing 1 mile away to put in your boat, canoe, or kayaks. We do have 2 kayaks that you can use. A 1 person kayak and a 2 person kayak. We also have 3 paddles and life jackets. Straight lake State Park is 15 minutes away and great for hiking or letting your dog swim. DO NOT LET DOGS IN AT our LAKE SHORE! Paps gas station and general store is 3 minutes away for basic needs. Pure and Simple on Hwy 8 has good old fashioned food, gifts, and some groceries. Turtle lake has a casino, Amery has a full grocery store, tons of cute vintage shops (I have a booth in Tin Cat), 2 art galleries, a River side park with live free music on Wednesdays at 6:00, (starting second week in June) in the park that we organize. Balsam lake has a cute beach , a great ice cream/ sandwich shop called KJs North, The Barred Owl is a great little speak easy style bar, and Viv’s is a cool new place across the street that serves food and beer and wine. There is also a new brewery in Balsam Lake! Lastly Viv's in Balsam Lake has Axe throwing! Back porch for sunrises (although from the upstairs bedroom you can see the sunrise perfectly). Front porch for sunsets and a nice breeze. We are nearby and always reachable by phone. The closest cabin on either side are out of view. There is a beautiful rolling field across the street where you will see deer but no people. There is a lake store with gas and necessities less than 5 minutes away. We will provide trail maps for snowmobiling. You’ll have private parking for 4 cars out in front of the cabin. For the safety of dogs we request that you (DO NOT) park inside the gate. Our lake is a peaceful lake with tons of wild life. The lake is not safe for swimming from shore. Take some time laying in the sun on the dock. There are places on the lake that you can get into the water for a swim. For swimming there are many lakes around with beaches. The lake is full of beautiful water fowl and water lotuses. In the winter there a places to ice fish but no-one sets up any ice shacks so it stays pristine. Plus all of the other lakes around for ice fishing in the winter or speed boats in the summer. We can provide a list of lakes, what fish are present and snowmobile trail maps. Cross country skiing only 10 minutes away with lit trails! Or visit the Straight Lake State Park for hiking a section of the Ice Age Trail.
