Charming Bed & Breakfast Cottage in the Mountains

Take it easy at this PRIVATE, unique and tranquil getaway tucked away in the Appalachian mountains. Enjoy the peace that comes with a stay in the mountains with a FULL (optional) breakfast served the first morning of your getaway! Although it may seem as though our home is in the middle of nowhere, (and maybe it is!) there is no shortage of things to do or sights to see in the area! Experience mountain views right from the front porch and Rickett's Glen State Park just a few minutes drive away! The space This beautifully renovated and well kept 1900s era home will put you at ease. Included is two bedrooms, one bath, and some very spacious living and dining areas. Large bay windows in the living room allow views of the Appalachians from the comfort of the couch. The front patio is accessible from the living room, and provides an open, unobstructed view of the surrounding mountains and landscape. The small town feel is perfectly complemented by knowing that your neighbors include long-time residents, the town's fire chiefs, and some of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. Rickett's Glen Campground is a very short drive away, and the largest state park can be accessed just down the road. Need a night cap? There is a small, local watering-hole style bar known as the Central Park Hotel within walking distance just down the street with amazing food! Further down the street the other direction is the well-known Jamison City Hotel and Bar, known for their 'Copper Penny Bar', live music, outside dining area, frequented by people from all around the area and travelers. Guest access Guests have full access to the entire home except for the garage, which is used as a secondary living space for the homeowner and host during guest stays. There is a small camper parked in the backyard that is off limits to guests as it is also, at times, a secondary living space for your hosts. During your stay If you opt for the "bed and breakfast" experience during your stay, you will receive a warm, welcoming and personal interaction with your host as breakfast is being served! (2 night minimum) You may choose what time you would like a full breakfast to be served, on the first morning of your stay, as early as 8am. Each morning to follow, complimentary grab-and-go breakfast options will be provided for your convenience! If you choose to bypass the full breakfast service, please reach out and let us know as soon as possible so that we may remove the breakfast resort fee from your total payment. The host will be accessing the kitchen through the side door to prepare your meal and will exit the home once the food is ready, allowing you to enjoy the rest of your getaway, uninterrupted. If you choose to stay cozied up in bed while your host finishes preparing your meal, a charming little breakfast bell will be rang letting you know that 'breakfast is served!' and we have exited the home! Other things to note GUEST ACCESS: You will have the entire home to yourself except for the garage which will be locked and inaccessible to guests. **PLEASE NOTE: It is possible that The Host (Jenni) may be staying in a private, on-site camper in the backyard during your stay. Jenni may need to occasionally access the attached garage while the home is occupied by guests. Rest assured, you will have full, uninterrupted access to all of the in-home amenities (bathroom, kitchen, etc.) without concern for the owner needing to enter the home. If you have any questions or concerns with this arrangement, please don't hesitate to reach out** SECURITY: A Simplisafe security system is installed on premises for safety and emergency contact situations. There are no live recordings, but we would like to disclose this for your comfort and to assure your safety. **RESORT FEE: If you choose to bypass the full breakfast service, please reach out and let us know as soon as possible so that we may remove the breakfast resort fee from your total payment. The host will be accessing the kitchen through the side door to prepare your meal and will exit the home once the food is ready, allowing you to enjoy the rest of your getaway, uninterrupted. We are slowly updating the property to a modern-vintage cottage-style home in between guest reservations! We will slowly be adding updated photos of the property as projects are completed. The next time you visit the cottage, you will be walking into a completely new space and we hope to meet your standards with an utmost, cozy experience!
