The space The apartment is your own spacious two bed apartment, which is separate from the other units in the building. The apartment is on the third (top) floor of the old "Carpets and Draperies" building, which was originally a department store back when it was finished in 1922. Note there's no elevator, so you'll have to climb some stairs, so mobility issues may present a problem. This unit is literally the coolest apartment in Harrisburg. It's huge, cozy but stylish, modern but old, and large enough to comfortably host dozens of guests. There are 2 bedrooms. The primary bedroom has a king bed and its own bathroom with two vanities. The smaller bedroom has a queen bed, with a shared bathroom just outside the bedroom off the kitchen. There are two large comfy couches, in case you need extra sleeping space (that do NOT pull out). The building's owner bought the dilapidated property with the goal of turning the top floor into his own penthouse apartment where he could entertain, but after the couple got a new job in Atlanta, they had to list it for the world to share! Keep in mind the owner does use the unit on occasion, but they're thrilled to share it with you during your stay. Also, the art has a very gothic-y vibe, with lots of skulls and stuff, in case that's not your thing. Guest access You have full access to the entire third floor of the property (Apartment E), including the back deck. HOWEVER, do not go down the deck stairs (absent an emergency), as the lower level deck is solely for the long-term tenant living in Apartment D.
