Description

Nestled just a few miles from the Delaware River, this 13-acre property offers unparalleled peace and tranquility. The space The land is predominantly forested, and with a 1200-foot driveway, the cabin is perfectly secluded from neighbors. Built in 2024, this 2-bed, 1-bath home is primarily powered by solar energy, with a propane generator as backup. Despite being off-grid, it provides all the modern comforts and conveniences of a typical on-grid residence. Perched on a hill with a forest clearing, the cabin boasts breathtaking views of distant mountains and abundant wildlife, including deer, wild turkeys, eagles, and waterfowl. Amenities include: - Two-person outdoor hot tub (wood-fired, 3 hours to fill and heat up) - Bow and arrows - Cornhole, dart, board games, and books - Quarter-acre private pond stocked with trout, bluegill, and catfish (basic fishing equipment provided, no fishing license required) - Ample firewood from fallen trees and branches, aged 1-2 years, which guests can cut and take home Nearby Attractions: - Hawk’s Nest: A popular scenic viewpoint along the Delaware River, just minutes away. - Mongaup Valley Wildlife Management Area: The property borders this 6000-acre NY State land. - Kadampa Meditation Center: A Tibetan Buddhist temple offering meditation workshops and retreats, just three minutes away. - St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Church: A stunning example of all-wooden Eastern European architecture, located three miles away in Glen Spey. - Rafting and Canoeing: Several companies within 10 miles, including Indian Head Canoes & Rafts and Silver Canoe & Whitewater Rafting. - Hiking Trails: Managed by the National Park Service in the nearby Upper Delaware River Valley area. - Port Jervis, NY: Fine dining and commuter trains (NJ Transit) to/from Manhattan, just 15 minutes southeast. - Monticello, NY: Home to NY’s largest indoor waterpark and casinos, 30 minutes north. - Skiing: Ski Big Bear at Masthope Mountain (30 min) and Belleayre Ski Resort (1.5 hours). Other things to note Cell phone signal is good for major carriers (Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T), but may be weak for some minor carriers, in which case more reliable signals can be found near the main road. Satellite internet is available. After a monthly data quota, speeds slow down. Occasional video conferencing is fine, but extended HD streaming and gaming are not sustainable. There is a DVD player. The gravel driveway calls for a 4-wheel-drive vehicle, especially if snow is expected. Please be advised that the out-door hot tub is wood-burning and it takes several hours to fill water and heat up. Also the guests are responsible for bringing/collecting firewood. Water may appear white/cloudy - this is normal, because it comes from a deep well and contains tiny bubbles which will dissipate in a few minutes.
