Granny Thomas Cottage is an original mud brick home situated on 19 acres of bushland, in the Central Goldfields. This eco-friendly home runs completely on stand-alone solar power and harvests its own rainwater. It's the perfect place to wind down and relax, go on bush walks or birdwatch, yet close enough to town to enjoy cafes, dining out, botanical walks, markets, local shopping and even movies! The space Open plan living downstairs features a spacious lounge room with a slow combustion wood heater, TV and large collection of DVD's. Step up to a country-style kitchen with dining table and stone bench top. There is also a laundry/toilet and additional dining/work area downstairs. Upstairs features two bedrooms, one with a King size bed and one with a Queen bed and a single bed. Towels & linen provided. There is a bathroom with shower & toilet. Both bedrooms and atrium have ceiling fans. Guest access Guests are welcome to enjoy all the outdoor space up to and including the pergola on the other side of the cottage. Please note that the area beyond the two little wood sheds on either side of the road is private. Other things to note For parking, you can either park right outside the cottage in front of the stone steps, or drive around to the back and park outside the fence, where there is a gate leading into the courtyard. There is a spare gas bottle for the BBQ if needed in the little back shed behind the cottage. The instant gas hot water & oven/stove run on LPG. If the gas cylinder runs out during your stay, there are simple instructions provided in the blue folder to flip it over to the other cylinder. It's very easy. Please be aware that the cottage is an earth building situated in the bush. We do our best to keep the house and gardens free from unwelcome bugs & wildlife however sometimes these do make an appearance, particularly in warmer weather.
