The Rose Shop- pet/horse friendly retreat.

Enjoy a quiet and private retreat with a fenced yard and paddock. Bring a pet or even a horse or 2. Easy laneway access to the Wombat State forest provides endless trails to walk or ride your bike/ horse. Conveniently located 90 minutes from Melbourne The Rose Shop is a perfect place to relax. Centrally located near several tourist towns, Daylesford and Creswick are 15 minutes away with Ballarat 25 minutes away. The space The Rose Shop is a one bedroom retreat on the site of a former Rose nursery. It is located at the front of our property with our house set well back providing guests with plenty of privacy. There is a Queen-size bed plus a quality Double sofa bed in the main living area for additional guests. The cottage caters for 2-4 people however the bathroom is located off the bedroom, like an ensuite. If you require linen for the sofa bed please advise us when you book. The living area has a kitchen with cooking facilities including a Nectre big baker's oven which can be used for cooking and heating. Plus there is a microwave that can grill and a separate electric hot plate. A limited amount of wood is supplied, additional wood can be purchased from local service stations or a stall located near the Swiss Mountain hotel. Instructions on how to best work the fire to get maximum heat and efficiency from the wood are in a folder, we encourage guests to read it. A split system heats and cools the cabin quickly. Please turn it off when you go away from the property. Outside there is a large picnic table and fire pit which doubles as a BBQ. The garden includes roses and established gum trees which provide plenty of shade to relax in. Note the fire pit will be out of action in the fire season. Guest access Guests access the Rose Shop via an electric gate and park in the secure yard. There is an adjoining paddock with electric fencingand a water trough for horses. The Rose Shop has a large secure yard for dogs to run around in, please supervise dogs at all times when on the property and we ask that animals do not get on the furniture. We can supply a large crate to pop your dogs in if you plan to go out and want to leave them unattended in the cottage, just let us know. Other things to note Please be aware we are a hobby farm, and have our own dogs who naturally bark at times. Our animals are safely contained and we request you do not enter these areas unless by prior arrangement. We adjoin large farms that also have farm animals, mainly cows, and so you may experience some happy animal sounds as part of your stay. We have a folder in the cabin which shows great places to visit especially for those who bring dogs.
