The space Our Story: Initially envisioned as a children's play structure, Kalptaru evolved into a family sanctuary. It was used as a weekday office and weekend retreat for movie nights, sleepovers, and cherished moments. Sharing the Magic: Inspired by friends and family's enthusiasm, we decided to share Kalptaru's beauty and charm. Sustainable Roots: Built-in 2022, designed and crafted by Michael Murphy and his crew (Barefoot Treehouses), Kalptaru embodies eco-friendly principles: - 70% of lumber sourced from property trees, milled on-site *Siding crafted from 140ft tall Western red cedar *Interior walls featuring maple wood planks *Artistic branch railings for safety and aesthetics Whimsical Touches: - Handwoven net structure under the treehouse by Sarah Jay (Dream Nets NorthWest) for relaxation and play. Bring your book or sleeping bags! - Spacious deck with eagle-nest railings (completed September 2024) perfect for camping, stargazing, meditation, and yoga. Main Level: - Ramp access to the main level -Relax in our inviting living room with plush revolving chair and sofa bed (converts to queen bed) - Counter space featuring: •Coffee POD machine • Electric kettle •Mini refrigerator •Microwave •Sink with running water (cold only) •Monitor and Mic-Enabled Webcam (Logitech) are available on request for work stays. Loft (Sleeping Area): - Accessible via steep ladder (please note) - Sloping roof with varying heights: The tallest side a little over 6 feet and the shortest side is about 4 feet - Amenities: space heater, smart TV and Sonos speaker Location Highlights: - 10 minutes from Woodinville Wine District - 5 minutes from a nearby golf course -Several trails and hikes around the area -Seattle Tacoma International Airport (SEA) : 35 miles - Paine Field (PAE) airport: 20 miles Guest access -The guests are welcome to use only the areas where the tree house is located. These include the large treehouse deck, treehouse structure, and giant net under the treehouse (accessed from the front deck of the treehouse). -Guests with young children are welcome to use the playground situated next to the treehouse outside of reserved hours. Refer to the sign by the playground for reserved hours. If you are staying more than one night you will hear noise if children are playing during those hours. Safety Reminders: - Steep ladder to access loft area. (ladder width- 20 inches) - Watch for height hazards (railings, etc.) - Ensure children understand and follow treehouse rules Other things to note Longer stays may not be advisable for guest who are not familiar in roughing it or climbing steep ladders or not comfortable using an outhouse bathroom. BATHROOM is located in a separate outhouse, about 50-70 feet from the treehouse and have a composting toilet. Additionally, please be prepared for Pacific Northwest weather, it can rain at any time of the year. OUTDOOR GRILL- We provide propane for the grill outdoors but not the utensils or silverware. Please bring your own if you are planning to use it. ACCOMODATION ARRANGEMENTS! The nightly rate includes accommodations for two guests. For each additional guest over two, there's an additional nightly charge per person. Please input the actual number of guests on reservation to get the price breakdown. Space can accomodate total four guests and is IDEAL for maximum of 2 adults who could be accompanied by 2 kids. If your stay includes more than two adult guests please check with us first before booking to avoid any cancelations later. Sectional in the living space pulls out into a queen bed for a comfortable sleeping arrangement. TREEHOUSE LOCATION: Please note that our treehouse is located in a residential area. It is situated in the wooded backyard/sideyard area on our shy 2 acre property. Eventhough our house is in close proximity and visible from the treehouse, it does not interfere with your privacy. If you're looking for a deeply secluded, forest-immersed experience, this might not be the perfect fit. However, we offer a unique blend of natural charm and convenient accessibility! HOTTUB! If hottub is critical to your stay, please let us know in advance. We'd be happy to cancel and refund your stay ideally within refund window, if we are aware of any technical problems beforehand. Please be informed treehouse offers a glamping experience with listed amenities. We keep hottub at ~104° F for our guest's comfort and for energy efficiency. We have posted for guest not to change hottub settings and if they have, set it back to 104° after use. If you find hottub in unusable condition due to situations out of our control (guests changing the settings, sudden equipment failure, inadequate time to clean after soiling accidents, etc) we don't entertain offering discounts. WORK TRAVEL DISCOUNT: Monday to Friday (nightly price) 3-day stay: 10% off 4-5 day stay: 15% off *Terms* Show us your work badge. Cannot be combined with other seasonal or promotional discounts. TREEHOUSE DYNAMICS: - Natural movement: Expect minor creaks, groans, and gentle swaying with wind - Elevated location: Windy days may amplify noise levels - Designed for stability: Treehouse flexes with the tree. WINTER MONTHS WARNINGS: - Sink Winterization: Treehouse sink has only cold running water and will be unavailable when temperatures drop to freezing to prevent pipe damage (December to February) - Restroom/Toilet: Remain available year-round. - Shower: Remains available year-round. If we ever have to winterize the shower due to extreme cold conditions we'll inform you and reschedule or fully refund as you seem appropriate. Questions or concerns , check with us before booking your stay during those months. CHILDREN & SAFETY: - We DO NOT have childproofing or baby proofing products installed at the treehouse. If young children are accompanying you, adult supervision is required for children at all times (Children under 6 years old require extra caution) - Children must be accompanied by an adult when using: treehouse deck, dreamnet, firepit. CANCELATION POLICY BY HOST: We enforce our cancellation policy; consider purchasing travel insurance for protection against unforeseen or unexpected circumstances. While our amenities remain the same, you may notice some minor adjustments to the setup and additional touches based on our guest feedbacks.
