Escape to the countryside at Tarras Countryside Retreat. Set on four peaceful acres with stunning mountain views, this tranquil stay blends comfort and charm. Just a short drive from the main tourist route, Wānaka, Cromwell, and Queenstown, our home offers two guest rooms with shared spaces and friendly animals—dogs, house cow Lucy, and free-roaming chooks. The space Wake up to the sound of birds and views of the Pisa Range. Your private bedroom offers quality linen, soft lighting, and a calm, inviting atmosphere. Enjoy a relaxing bath with views of the countryside, or a refreshing rain shower. The shared bathroom includes a separate toilet and sink for your comfort. Unwind in the shared living area with Nespresso coffee, teas, and filtered water, or step outside to breathe in the fresh mountain air. A microwave, toaster and fridge are available for simple meals (no full kitchen), and we’re happy to recommend cafés and restaurants in Wānaka, Cromwell or Queenstown. Guest access Guests enjoy access to their private bedroom, shared bathroom, shared living area, and the surrounding outdoor spaces. There’s plenty of parking right by the house. Our taxidermy workshop at the back is private, but we’re always happy to share more about the craft if you’re curious. During your stay We respect your privacy but are nearby if you’d like help planning your day or simply a friendly chat. We love sharing tips on the best walks, wineries, cafés, and hidden spots around Tarras, Wānaka, and Cromwell. Other things to note You’ll be staying in one of two private guest rooms in our beautiful countryside home. The bathroom and living areas are shared only if the second room is booked; otherwise, you’ll have them all to yourself. We don’t use these facilities. Quiet hours start at 10 p.m. so everyone can enjoy a good night’s rest. We also operate Catch a Fish, offering guided fishing trips on Lakes Wānaka, Hāwea, and Wakatipu Queenstown, guests receive a special discount. The nearest supermarkets are in Cromwell and Wānaka, about 20 minutes away.
