In the heyday of Rome's Dolce Vita, stars like Federico Fellini, Clint Eastwood and Ava Gardner roamed these parts of the city, and this otherwise quiet area became internationally known for its clubs, bars and restaurants. Today, this district (Sallustiano) is increasingly chosen by tourists and expats alike because of its convenient location as it is close to the major sights (the Borghese Gallery or the Spanish Steps are the most important examples). The space In this context, FromHometoRome has been successfully managing several apartments in the same building on the quiet Via Toscana, a few minutes away from a number of embassies (Indian, United States, Indonesian, Japanese and others). Now a fourth apartment has joined its "neighbors", once again in the same early twentieth century building. The newcomer is located on the first floor of an elevator-equipped complex. Toscana 2 is a one-bedroom apartment that has been recently renovated in a decidedly mid-century modern style, while preserving some of the original features of the accommodation, such as the hardwood floors. Guests enter into a dining/living room/kitchenette that includes a comfortable double Murphy bed, which effectively means that this space can sleep up to four people. The master bedroom has a large wardrobe. The kitchenette has all the essentials to prepare a quick meal or a hearty breakfast, and it comes complete with an oven, induction hob, fridge and freezer, a microwave oven. A washer is also available for all of your laundry needs. The one bathroom is equipped with a shower. Rich in natural light, Toscana 2 comes with a small balcony in the main bedroom, independent air heating and air conditioning in all rooms. Our guests will be able to connect to their favorite streaming service (if available in Italy) through two Smart TVs. A Wifi connection is offered free of charge. We regret that this apartment is not suitable for smokers. One of the highlights of Via Toscana 42 remains the shared condominium rooftop, available to all guests of the building. This terrace offers a small retreat suspended in the heart of the city, with water, coffee, tea and blankets provided for moments of relaxation. Whether for a quiet morning pause or an evening moment under the Roman sky, it adds a rare and authentic dimension to the stay. The rooftop terrace is a shared space with the other residents, open daily from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm. It serves as an open-air extension of the apartment for relaxation and social moments, while respecting opening hours and quiet times. Access may be temporarily suspended by the building manager if necessary. As mentioned, FromHometoRome already manages a number of apartments in the same building, which makes Toscana 2 ideal if you’re looking to travel with a larger group but are concerned about privacy (example: you’re traveling with your parents, or with a group of friends….). As such, get in touch to inquire about availability: we may be able to have you all together! Guest access The guests can access to the entire apartment described. The Common Roof Terrace is shared with the other neighbors of the building. It's open all day from 8 am to 11 pm. Roof terraces were historically thought of as social spaces, and this building has brought back a long-standing tradition of using them as places for meeting other residents. While they were usually accessed to hang one laundry or to have cookouts, now they’re mostly an extension of one’s apartment, and in this particular case this becomes an extra living room, just… in the open! This explains why certain rules have to be observed: opening times, for instance, refraining from making excessive noise, and respecting quiet hours and the building’s residents. Other things to note Every time a guest checks out, this apartment is thoroughly cleaned and scrubbed, ventilated and disinfected in all its areas according to the instructions of the Italian Health Department. The sheets and bedspreads (replaced at each check-in) are washed in high temperatures by specialized personnel. Cleaning products with 70% alcohol are used. Standard check-in from 3 to 9 pm. Check-ins after 21:00 (9:00 pm) can be arranged for an additional cost of €50, to be paid in cash upon arrival. Check-out within 10:00 am. This apartment is thoroughly cleaned, aired, and sanitized in all its parts according to the instructions of the Ministry of Health. Sheets and bedspreads (changed for each guest) are washed at high temperatures by specialized companies. Cleaning products containing 70% alcohol are used. Upon request, for an additional fee, we can arrange transfers to/from airports, train stations, and the Port of Civitavecchia. More information will be available after booking.
