Root-Stone Lodge: Betelgeuse

Betelgeuse Suite, named after the red supergiant star, is one of our five rooms available. This private room features a queen-sized pillow top mattress, 100% cotton, high thread count linens, flat screen TV with streaming channels, mini fridge, Kuerig, stone tiled bathroom with walk in shower, fresh towels, a private balcony with stunning views overlooking Strawberry Creek. Access to lobby with fireplace, kitchen, bbq, deck and hot tub are potentially community areas, tho often not fully booked The space Nestled above the serene Strawberry Creek, Root Stone Lodge offers a peaceful retreat where nature meets comfort. Just a short 3/4 mile walk into town, our lodge provides easy access to the creek trail. Allowing you to explore and take in the beauty of the area. Our back deck is the perfect place to relax, featuring a 6-person hot tub, a gas BBQ, and an outdoor dining area where you can enjoy meals surrounded by nature. Inside, you'll find a cozy sitting area with stunning views of the trees and creek, a fully equipped kitchen, and an indoor dining area. Unwind with a movie on the large flat-screen TV or gather around the indoor game table for some friendly competition. The lodge showcases a unique spiral staircase crafted from pine and manzanita by the owner, adding a touch of rustic elegance. Our one-acre, unfenced property is surrounded by towering pine, fir, and ponderosa trees, creating a tranquil setting. Encounter local wildlife such as California grey squirrels, many birds including blue jays, wood packers, and hummingbirds, also on occasion, raccoons, deer, coyote and bobcats have been spotted! Enjoy outdoor spaces such as trail to creek, sitting areas, zip line and mini amphitheater. Wedding and event space available! Root Stone Lodge offers a harmonious blend of rustic charm and modern amenities, providing a serene escape just minutes from local attractions and dining. Whether you're seeking adventure or relaxation, our lodge is the ideal place to create lasting memories. Guest access As a guest you will have a private room, balcony and stone tiled bathroom. This is a boutique hotel and there are central areas that are potentially shared, including the living room, kitchen, dining area and deck with hot tub and bbq. At times no other rooms are rented but weekends and holidays can get busy. We have 4 rooms total that are available for guests. There is great walking and we are only a mile into town. Both the road or creek trail will take you into the quaint Idyllwild village area. The lodge is situated along the beautiful Strawberry creek. Wonderful for taking in nature! Other things to note The locale offers stunning views of the tallest peaks in the San Jacinto Wilderness, world class hiking and rock climbing alongside fine dining restaurants, bakeries, artisan boutiques, and some of the best in singer song writer, jazz, bluegrass, rock and blues performing artists that Idyllwild is known for!
