For those arriving in Porto via the Infante Bridge, two paths open up: one, through Rua das Fontainhas, a typical neighborhood where the longest party in the city is celebrated, S. João; the other, by Rua Alexandre Herculano. Climbing this street is a challenge to the eye: from shops of the most varied local products, services, a chapel, hotels and restaurants. Among the residential buildings is a discreet house designed by the architect responsible for the construction of the Coliseu do Porto. A more attentive observer will not miss the similarities with that famous concert hall. Now recovered, this house, built by a well-known merchant from Porto in 1937, maintained its original layout, given its municipal interest and the family's wishes. With two floors, this house of simple and elegant lines has a vast hall, 3 en-suites, balconies and terraces with a breathtaking landscape: on one side, the tranquility of the Douro River and on the other, the bustle of the city up to Praça da Batalha. Guest access The house is located an 8-minute walk from the S. Bento and a 10-minute walk from Bolhão Metro Station. Porto International Airport is 16 km from Casa do Comandante. Other things to note The iconic Livraria Lello, considered one of the most beautiful in the world, is 800 meters away. On the way, S. Bento (with its beautiful tiles) and the Church of the Clergy. About a 20-minute walk away is the lively Ribeira area, the Church of S. Francisco and the Bolsa Palace.
