This is a charming vintage homestead on 5 acres just two turns off the road to the National Park (north entrance). You have views for miles from every room. You can see to the snowy mountains in winter and spring and overlook the lights in the town of Twentynine Palms at night from the hot tub. The sunrises and sunsets are unreal. There are multiple outdoor spaces - a large covered patio with a sectional, a large deck with bean bag lounge, a firepit and a hot tub. There is a dark night sky to stargaze and observe celetial events and meteor showers. This is the area with the darkest night sky in all of Southern California. All the lights can be turned off except the small solar lights lighting up the yard and driveway and they are not actually that bright. If you'd like, take a blanket and telescope away from the house out farther on the 5 acre property. The dining room has a large live edge dining table that seats 6 that looks out over the desert from large windows. There is a sectional in the living room with cozy moroccan rugs, a curated library, and record collection. The bedrooms are spacious with a comfortable king bed in each room. In the master, there is an electric stove in the fireplace that can also be used as a heater in the winter. There is a simple kitchen with all the necessities you would need to cook your own meals. There is a washer and dryer. This house was designed with rustic simplicity in mind - vintage moroccan rugs, rich colors, and quirky art. When you are on the property you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere but you are actually- -15 minutes from the north entrance to the National Park -10 minutes from unique restaurants and shopping in 29Palms -10 minutes from the military base -20 or so minutes from restaurants and shops in Joshua Tree 29 Palms is a quirky small town with live music, dive bars, a farmer's market and outdoor art exhibits. There is a lively cultural scene of musicians and artists who call this place home. We also own the lot directly to the east. You have the entire property to yourself and you can come and go as you please by smartlock. Other things to note Your safety is a priority. We have two exterior cameras facing the entrance to the property, and the back door (with the smart lock) and driveway area. There are no other cameras. This home is semi-off grid and is not connected to city water or sewer. There is a water tank in the back yard but we ask that you are mindful of water use. There is no TV at the house, but cell service and wifi are generally pretty strong and reliable. There are no pets allowed There is no dishwasher, and dishes must be done by hand. There is a $20 per day charge for charging an electric vehicle. Please notify us beforehand if you plan on charging your car. We are sorry but we cannot guarantee early check-ins or late check-outs ahead of time because our cleaner is on a tight schedule and we are generally fully booked.
