Welcome to Casa Tanto Mar, a modern and stylish, yet cozy and relaxing space located in the heart of Lagos. A welcoming holiday home idealized based on our own experiences as frequent travelers. We offer you a freshly renovated and completely redesigned home, where everything was done thinking of our guests needs during a holiday. Every piece of furniture has not only an esthetic and practical function, but also one of comfort. We look forward to welcoming you at Casa Tanto Mar. The space Our summer home is a three-floor, two-bedroom townhouse with beautiful sea views, a privilege from being located in one of the highest areas around Lagos’ historic old town. Located a mere 500 meters from the pedestrian-only streets of old town and from Lagos’ marina’s promenade, Casa Tanto Mar sits at a “sweet-spot”: close enough to the bustling old town’s shops, restaurants, and bars, but away enough so you have peace and quiet when you need some rest. This corner house has lots of natural light and mostly natural materials based decor, with omnipresent wood, bamboo, jute, raffia and linen, complemented by displays of local art and crafts to create a relaxing and warm ambience where all your senses come at ease. On the ground floor you find an open space with a cozy living room, dining room, half bathroom, and modern kitchen with brand new appliances including wine cooler, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, and a milk frother. Our stylish dining area sits up to 6 people. Walking up the staircase to the first floor you’ll notice the original azulejos from when the house was built in the 80s. The two bedrooms are located on the first floor alongside the full bathroom. Both bedrooms are equipped with king size beds and high quality 100% foam mattress. All the ceiling LED lights are dimmable, including in the bedrooms, and all the windows have electric external blackout blinds. The house has air-conditioning/heat units throughout the rooms, including in each bedroom to assure the comfort of your stay during all the seasons. On the second floor you find our terrace kitchenette and our “zen corner” where you have everything you need for your yoga, stretching or meditation practice. Stepping out onto the terrace, you have a full size dining table that also sits up to 6, so you can also enjoy your meals al fresco and with a view. An electric retrievable awning offers the outside dining area pleasant shade on the hottest days. Also in the terrace you can enjoy the sun and relax on the wooden beach chairs. And finally, take the stairs from the terrace to the rooftop to enjoy wonderful views of the ocean, the marina, and of Lagos’ rooftops. And on extra hot days, you can always count on the rooftop providing you with fresh breeze and a few degrees less of relief from the heat. Other things to note Unfortunately Casa Tanto Mar is not suitable/safe for children under 7 years old. Families with non-walking infants are welcome to stay.
