Relax and unwind in this characteristic detached house surrounded by meadows, probably from the year 1880. Located on a farmyard, completely painted in July 2024, equipped with new interior and equipped with every comfort. On the border of Groningen, Friesland & Drenthe. With beautiful nature reserves in the area. Be sure to read the entire ad for tips! The space The cottage is a home next to an active farm. This charming cottage was built in 1880 (and then possibly rebuilt) and has a rich history as part of the former Wester Zethuis in Marum. From the Zethuisje, you can look out over the meadows and the Marumerlage nature reserve. The Zethuisje has always been inhabited for a long time and in July 2024 it was provided with new paint (inside and outside), a new floor and brand new interior + white goods and thus transformed into a lovely vacation home. In the laundry room, there is a door that cannot be accessed. Behind it is another guest house, the Twadde Hûske. ******* Start your tour here ********** The ground floor has a hall, after which you enter the living room, spacious light, overlooking the meadows, equipped with air conditioning, double sofa bed, round dining table with 4 chairs and equipped with blackout roller blinds. I always welcome guests with a personal card and something tasty on the table. The most common comment from guests is that the cottage is much more spacious than it appears in the photos😀. From the hall you then enter the kitchen with fridge (with freezer compartment), combination microwave (so with oven mode), 4 burner gas stove, coffee maker, kettle, milk frother, bread maker, slow cooker, kitchen linen and everything you need to survive during the stay, pans, dishes, kitchen utensils, cutlery, etc. but also soap, dishwashing liquid, garbage bags, cooking oil, salt/pepper, coffee+filters, tea, sugar, sweeteners, milk powder, cling film, sandwich bags, etc. In addition, downstairs you will find the utility room/laundry room with washing machine and a dryer (including detergent, fabric softener, dryer wipes + drying balls), washing rack, ironing board + iron. Here is also the toilet (equipped with toilet paper, towel, hand soap). On the first floor is a basic but fine bathroom with shower, bathtub, 2 bathrobes, towels, washcloths, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, bath oil, body scrub, Rituals candle and bath bubbles. When you walk up the stairs further, you will find a separate room with a sink. Here you will also find towels, washcloths, soap, deodorant, hand cream, cotton pads, cotton swabs, facial tonic, face wash, perfume, comb and a hairdryer. Opposite this is a small room where the central heating boiler is located, which is shielded with a room screen. The room is equipped with a carbon monoxide detector and has a small cute window, which of course can be opened. To make good use of the space in the cottage, there is a single folding bed with bedding. There is also a built-in closet (including extra blankets and a camping bed) and another separate closet. This room is therefore suitable as an extra bedroom for 1 person. From feedback from two previous guests, it has emerged that the central heating sometimes starts at night and this can be experienced as disturbing if you are a light sleeper. Earplugs are therefore provided. Despite this, there have already been many guests who fortunately did not experience this as disturbing. Finally, you will find the cozy master bedroom upstairs. Equipped with a 180×200 box spring, a seat and 2 built-in cabinets. From the bedroom, you can look out over an animal enclosure with chickens, ducks, and geese. OUTSIDE Outside is a canopy with 2 lounge chairs and a dart board + darts. Also from the lounge chairs, you can look out over the meadows. In the corner of the garden, you will find a bicycle shed. Here are 2 bicycles that you can use during your stay. Please note, these are bicycles with a high bus stop/student bicycle content😉. Especially purchased for guests who do not have their own transportation and can thus get to the bus stop. Of course, you can bring your own bike. In the shed, there is also the possibility to charge your own e-bike. Trimunt, Coendersbos, Jiltdijksheide, Curringheveld, Haarsterbosch. - A little further on, Bakkeveen is really the place to be; with a sandy area in the middle of the forest and beautiful Duurswouderheide and towards Wijnjewoude even more beautiful hiking and cycling paths (including around the Freulevijver). - Also navigate to the nice and beautiful villages such as Appelscha, Roden or Norg. These villages are surrounded by the most beautiful forests and have a cozy village center.
