Bella Vista Cottage

Charlotteville (within the UNESCO biosphere reserve) is approximately 1.2hrs from the Tobago Airport, and off the beaten path. Bella Vista cottage overlooks the village, rainforest and Caribbean Sea. It is situated close enough to experience village life but tucked away to enjoy solitude and the most breath-taking views of the ocean, village, and rainforest! Beautiful beaches are just a 5-10 min walk away. The space Bella Vista is a cozy one bedroom, one bathroom wooden cottage perched on a steep hillside. The cottage sits on an acre of lush garden amidst tropical flowers, and fruit trees. The location is ideal for bird watching - motmot, bananaquits, parrots, tanagiers, corn bird, hummingbirds, cocricos (Tobago's national bird) and others. Place a banana on the feeder and hang out on the deck for the show! The kitchen features a full-size fridge freezer, microwave, full gas cooker with oven, electric kettle, electric coffee maker and toaster. The kitchen, living room, dining and bedroom area all open onto the large deck. Mosquito net is provided. Parking for one car is available in the narrow driveway at front of the property, right off Windward Road. From the hammock, listen to the waves or watch the pelicans play in the Caribbean Sea. Stroll through the village, pick up fresh produce / seafood from vendors, and enjoy a freshly picked coconut! Hike or take a boat to Pirate’s Bay to swim/snorkel in the crystal-clear waters. Paradise! In the evenings, unwind on the deck with your favourite beverage. NOTE: For safety reasons, due to the design of the balcony we do not accept reservations with children. Other things to note Charlotteville is a real Caribbean village, not touristy or quiet as a resort. There are only one or two places to dine and be prepared for these places to not have regular opening hours. Before booking, note the potential for noise (music, brush cutting before dawn, animals, birds etc).. Bella Vista is a nature lovers’ haven - if this is not your thing, please look elsewhere for a well- sealed, air-conditioned accommodation. Since there is no an additional cleaning fee, please keep the cottage sparkling clean - like you found it: -Floors. -Dishes washed, dried & put away. -No spills on stove, counters, fridge. -Take out garbage and recycling. -Cleaning services available at an extra charge. Our aim is to reduce the amount of garbage produced. Reduce and remove all your trash and recycling. There is a collection box for plastics located near the bus stop & gas station. Pack a reusable water bottle, shopping bag, reuse plastic shopping bags etc. Adhere to the NO SMOKING rule. Simply take it to the roadside.
