The space Welcome to Pines & Peaks Mountain Retreat! @pinesandpeaksco Clear Creek County License #: STR25-003 PLEASE NOTE THAT 4WD/AWD IS REQUIRED FOR THE AREA FROM OCT-MAY Inside: Upon entering you will be greeted with stunning mountain views and a well designed space. Every room upstairs has breathtaking views from over 10,000 feet! This extravagant vacation retreat is split between 2 levels offering different options for entertaining and space for the family to spread out. Our main level has our kitchen, dining table for 6, living room and primary bedroom w/ an ensuite bathroom. The loft w/ a queen bed is accessed through the primary bedroom. **Please note the loft is not private, as it is above the main floor bedroom and living room. It is accessed via a ladder, visible in the photos, and not recommended for young children. Retreat downstairs and you will find the family living room, 3rd & 4th bedrooms, 2nd bathroom and the access to the deck and hot-tub. The sleeper sofa is located in the downstairs family room along with a small desk for catching up on emails or work with free high-speed Wi-Fi. -We're consistently adding new features not always represented in the photos. A few to note are the newly renovated 4th bedroom, a new outdoor grill, new linens & towels, and a new PlayStation 5! *considering bringing your own games as we have several sports games and will continue to add* - Two of our bedrooms are equipped with high-end mattresses and pillows, Smart TV’s w/ Roku for your streaming services, noise machines, and furnishing from West Elm and CB2. The loft is equipped with a Casper mattress and third bedroom with memory foam/gel cooling hybrid twin mattresses. Please note: The main floor bedroom does not have curtains on the top 2 windows. If you plan on sleeping in, please travel with eye masks. There are also 3 decorative cutouts up high in the wall between the main floor bedroom and living room that can take away from complete privacy. Outside: Once on our outside deck, you will find our hot-tub overlooking stunning mountain (Pines & Peaks) views. In late spring and summer, enjoy the sounds of our man-made water fountain/pond, that pulls water from the stream which rolls through our property. The natural wild flowers are a sight to be seen too! Getting out? Hike St. Mary's Glacier Trailhead, Visit the Historic Argo Gold Mill & Tunnel or drive down to Indian Hot springs. In the winter, visit Echo Mountain for Skiing, Snow Boarding or Tubing or access many ski locations that are within an hour and twenty minutes (listed below). The summers are ideal for nearby rafting, hiking, fly fishing, zip lining & more! - 2 minutes to Loch Lomond Trailhead - 5 minutes to St. Mary's Glacier Trailhead - 25 minutes to Indian Hot Springs - 25 minutes to downtown Idaho Springs - 30 minutes to Georgetown & The Georgetown Loop Railroad - 40 minutes to Red Rocks Amphitheater - 55 minutes to Lake Dillon - 1 Hr to Denver - 45 minutes to Loveland Ski Area - 1 hour to Winter Park Ski Area - 1 hour and 10 minutes to Breckenridge & Skiing - 1 hour and 20 minutes to Vail & Skiing - 1 hour and 15 minutes to Eldora Skiing We are located 10,500 feet above sea level. Located off of I-70, we are a 20-minute drive up the mountain with the last 0.50 miles of the drive being a gravel/dirt packed county-maintained road. Our driveway is flat making parking easy. You will need to walk down about 20 steps to access our home. We do require AWD or 4WD during snowy months (October-June), and chains are helpful as well. Strictly two cars per reservation maximum. Message us for a weather update if you're questioning AWD/4WD. **PLEASE NOTE** Located at over 10,000 feet in the Colorado Rockies, this cabin offers a stunning mountain retreat with some practical considerations. Access to the cabin from Oct-Jun requires a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle, as roads can be steep, muddy and snow-covered. The thin air can make physical activity more strenuous, and temperatures can drop quickly, even in summer, so be sure to pack warm layers. While the cabin is connected to the grid, power outages are possible due to storms or heavy snow—emergency lanterns and one Duraflame log is provided, but additional (and only fire logs) are recommended. **There is currently a FIRE-BAN and outdoor fires are NOT PERMITTED** Any questions, don't hesitate to message us!! Guest access Our entire private home is available to guests, and self check-in instructions will be sent 24-48 hours before your stay. We know that many guests like to check-in early and truly hope to accommodate all requests. We will attempt to message you once the cleaning crew has completed their work, the day of your check-in, to let you know the home is available. Other things to note If it snows during your stay guests may need to shovel the deck/pathway(including stairs) to clear a path. We have snow plow service for the parking area after every major snow storm, but it is likely you may need to shovel snow. Ice melt is usually readily available, and recently installed outdoor heat mats will help reduce snow on the path/stairs. 4WD vehicles are required October - May and AWD is encouraged year-round. Please inquire prior to booking if you have questions regarding road conditions. If roads are open and you can't make it to the rental, no refunds will be issued. Parking for 2-3 cars, please plan accordingly as parking on the county roads may result in a parking ticket or tow. The summertime climate here is mild and most all homes in the area are not equipped with air conditioning. Ceiling fans and locking screen doors allow cool airflow as an alternative. Brand new washer & dryer just added!! STAIRS You are required to go down ~20 steps to reach the front door. WEATHER CAMERA There is one outdoor security camera used to monitor weather. LOFT The loft is accessed by a built in ladder and is connected to and accessed through the main floor bedroom. **Please note the loft is not private, as it is above the main floor bedroom and living room. It is accessed via a built in ladder, visible in the photos, and not generally recommended for children** WOOD STOVE Use of Wood Stove is permitted with the use of a single DuraFlame log (1 at a time); bring your own log. PARTIES OR EVENTS There are no parties or events allowed at the rental. PETS We are a pet friendly rental; 2 pets max. We charge a $100 non-refundable accommodation fare during your stay. Dog bowls, poo bags, and a welcome treat provided. If house rules are broken we reserve the right to withhold your security deposit and/or cancel your reservation. HOT TUB The hot tub is professionally serviced between stays with frequently scheduled deep-cleans. When the water is changed, it takes 12-24 hours for the water to reheat. If this occurs during your stay, we cannot guarantee the hot tub will reach the desired temperature at that time. Hot tub rules posted are at the property. If our hot tub rules are not followed and a water change is needed due to mistreatment of the tub, we will charge a $150 change fee. OUTDOOR FIRES We are in a high fire risk area and the county has an ordinance against any outdoor fires. CHILDPROOFING Guest understands that no special efforts have been made to “childproof” this house and accepts the risk or harm to any children/infants we allow on the property. CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT After submitting your booking, you'll receive a thank you confirmation message, and within 48 hours prior to check-in you'll receive additional instructions for your arrival. TRAVEL INSURANCE/CANCELLATIONS We HIGHLY recommend buying travel insurance through your airline company, car rental company, or a travel insurance website. We cannot provide a refund for anything that falls outside of our cancellation policy and the dates that correspond with the policy. This includes date change requests as they are considered the same as cancellations (if the new requested check-in date is a later date than your original check-in date). We cannot provide a refund due to travel related issues or illness. Please review the Airbnb cancellation policy if you haven't already. This can be found under your reservation, directly through our listing, or through the website that you booked. In most cases (but not all), you have a minimum of 48 hours to cancel your reservation to receive a full refund. Many reservations may have a longer period for a full refund. Last minute bookings are typically non-refundable. ALTITUDE Remember, you are at 10,000+ feet - the altitude means that your body will need to adjust to thinner air. Drinking plenty of water and taking frequent breaks if you feel winded/out-of-breath is recommended. Please check with your doctor before booking if you may have any conditions that may be adversely affected by a higher altitude. Our Property Manager does offer the use of Oxygen Concentrator (for a fee), if needed.
