About the Praia de Iracema neighborhood: charm, excitement and inspiration Imagine living or spending your days in a part of the city that combines cultural energy, historical charm, natural beauty and great convenience — this is the Praia de Iracema neighborhood, one of the most symbolically rich and dynamic corners of Fortaleza. Located between downtown and Meireles, the neighborhood is considered noble and central. It carries a vibrant aura: on the one hand, the waterfront and promenade invite you to stroll, contemplate and enjoy the sea views; on the other, cafes, restaurants, bars, cultural galleries and nightlife bring the neighborhood to life when the sun goes down. The name “Iracema” refers to José de Alencar's classic novel, and several streets in the neighborhood preserve this connection with indigenous roots (such as Tabajaras, Cariris, Potiguaras). There is a strong cultural trait: housing spaces such as the Centro Dragão do Mar de Arte e Cultura, the neighborhood organizes many artistic activities, festivals, exhibitions and events throughout the year. - Leisure / waterfront: Iracema Beach / waterfront, promenade for walking, bars and restaurants along the waterfront - Culture / Crafts: Fortaleza Central Market, the largest handicraft market in Brazil, with more than 600 stores / boxes distributed over 5 floors.
