Escape the noise of everyday life and enjoy a special moment at Genpuan, a riverside forest retreat. This is a private Japanese-style house reserved for only one group per day. A traditional single-story home with open ceilings and the warm atmosphere of natural wood. The space Nature & Experiences The property is set within a 1,000㎡ natural environment surrounded by bamboo groves, a small flowing stream, and beautiful seasonal scenery. Enjoy the peaceful sounds of birds singing and insects at night, creating a quiet and relaxing atmosphere where both body and mind can truly unwind. A car is recommended when staying at Genpuan. Public transportation in this area is limited, so having a car will make traveling and exploring nearby attractions much easier. We offer four optional experiences to make your stay even more memorable. Optional Experiences ① BBQ – ¥2,000 Charcoal and a new grill net are included. You only need to bring your own food ingredients. BBQ can still be enjoyed under the gazebo even on rainy days. ② Traditional Japanese Hearth (Irori) – ¥2,000 Simply bring your own ingredients. Please note: the hearth is designed for hot pot style cooking only. Grilling meat or fish is not permitted. ③ Drum Can Outdoor Bath Experience – ¥3,000 Light the firewood and heat the bath yourself. A unique camp-style outdoor bathing experience in nature. Please note that depending on the season or weather, heating the water may take over an hour. ④ Premium “Totonoi” Sauna Experience – ¥5,000 Relax in nature while warming up in a tent sauna surrounded by the gentle sound of burning firewood. There is also one spare camping cot (portable camping bed) available. If you wish to use it, please inform us in advance. The house can accommodate up to 6–7 guests, but please note that using all bedding may feel slightly compact. ② Noise The house is located in a residential area where neighbors live nearby. Please be especially mindful of noise levels during the night and early morning, and avoid disturbing the local community. ③ Outdoor Space Please handle fire carefully when using the BBQ, tent sauna, or drum bath. After use, always make sure the fire is completely extinguished and dispose of the ashes properly. When using the tent sauna or drum bath, wearing swimwear is required. If you wish to use the tent sauna or drum bath options, please inform us in advance by message. ④ Natural Environment The property is located in a natural environment surrounded by bamboo forest and a small stream. Because of this, insects may occasionally enter the house. We appreciate your understanding. Mosquito coils and insect repellent items are provided in the outdoor space. Please feel free to use them. During your stay, please avoid leaving windows and doors open, as this may allow insects to enter. ⑤ Smoking Smoking is strictly prohibited indoors. If you wish to smoke, please do so outside only. This also applies to electronic cigarettes. After smoking, please dispose of cigarette butts in the red bucket ashtray located next to the bench under the eaves on the left side of the entrance. Do not bring cigarette butts inside or discard them around the property. ⑥ Pets Pets are not allowed on the property. Please note that bringing pets to the facility, both indoors and outdoors, is not permitted. ⑦ Fireworks For the consideration of nearby residents, fireworks are not permitted.
