Ometepe Casitas - Cabin with private Kitchen on peaceful and beautiful lakefront property in El Peru, Ometepe. Guest can swim at the calm beach and enjoy stunning views of both the Maderas and Concepcion Volcanoes, rent a kayak and paddle up to the Istian river. Rent a scooter and explore the rest of the island or just sit back and relax at the beach or terrace and see the sunset while watching monkeys and hundreds of birds and parrots flying back home to our neighboring trees. The space Our property consists of a lake front house with a second floor terrace that guests can use, Beach gazebo, parking space and a total of 3 cabins with about 6 meters of distance between each other. Each Casita accommodates 2 guests. If you are a looking to book for a larger group you can find the other 2 tiny homes on the map next to this one. Other things to note Staying on an Island in paradise has its price: Power outages are very common when there are heavy rains or strong winds or just the regular network maintenance. We have some rechargeable fans and lights in each cabin for these situations. Extreme weather may also affect the islands internet. Our routers are solar powered so wifi should be working even if there’s power outages. Each casita has a solar powered strip to charge your devices in case of power outages. Insects and Wildlife on the island: Given Ometepe is a Natural Reserve, the island is home to a lot of insects, mammals, birds and reptiles. We have tried to bug proof our indoor facilities as best as we can, but there is still a chance of finding little ants, geckos, an occasional non deadly scorpion or spider amongst others. Luckily these insects are not the quickest, if you find a threatening kind you can either broom it out or send it to heaven. We recommend keeping your doors closed to avoid flying insects going into the house. Please note that during the rainy season the 700 mts of dirt road to our place might be a bit rocky in some parts after heavy rains. Even though it mostly flat and better than many other dirt roads on the island we recommend driving slowly , having a slightly higher vehicle is a plus!
