Escape to 40 acres of tranquility at our private skoolie retreat! Nestled alongside 700 acres of Shawnee National Forest, this unique haven offers breathtaking valley views, a serene fish pond, and your own private trail. Perfect for couples, friends, families, or solo travelers, it’s the ideal basecamp for hiking, biking, climbing, or simply unwinding in nature. The space Simple Comforts Inside: full-size foam bed, two lounge sofas, solar plug-ins, and space for your gear. Outside: propane shower, private outhouse, and a functional outdoor kitchen. no WiFi, no TV, no A/C Outside: Great views, shower kitchen, fire pit, fish pond, and private trail. Many deer, and birds to watch birds. Wild Encounters Spot deer and turkeys, stargaze under the Milky Way, or unwind by the fire pit as the sun sets. Guest access Privacy Consideration guests are welcome to explore the skoolie camp area, trail, & pond which is quite vast, please note that our house is located a further 0.25 miles down the gravel drive. We kindly request that guests do not venture past the turn in the drive, this area we keep private. Other things to note We ask our guests to: Respect nature and wildlife. Keep the area clean—use the trash can and recycling bin outside, as it can get breezy on the hill and food may attract animals. No fireworks. Prior permission before booking is required for pets, large groups, parties. hunting, dirt bikes, four-wheelers, boats, RVs are not allowed. What to Bring: Bring ice or ice packs for the cooler, external battery for night time charging, snacks and any gear for outdoor activities. *Be sure to check the weather forecast and prepare for conditions bc many amenities are outside. Bring warm clothes and rain gear in fall & spring.
