Description

Charming stone cottage in quiet village street just 8 miles from Stamford and Peterborough. 2 miles from Market Deeping. Off street parking for several vehicles. Local village pub serving great food Weds-Sun. Shop and PO selling everything 5 mins walk away. Full of character including low ceilings and wood burner. Private sunny patio and garden. Free private parking. The space Perfect for multi-generational family get-togethers, a couples getaway, or those needing a comfortable base while working away from home, this characterful cottage is situated in a peaceful street of similar properties, just 2 minutes walk from the village pub, The Packhorse and local church, St Andrews. On arrival just drive through the wooden gate at the side of the property, and you’re here! The huge gravel area is all yours, off street, to park where you wish. The peaceful patio has wooden seating (cushions stored in the pantry) and table to enjoy a morning coffee or evening glass of something special. In the evening, the solar lights illuminate this area to transform it into a pretty, relaxing place to be in to enjoy warm summer nights. There is also a fun sandpit for the children to play in. Crafted from a huge tractor tyre filled with play sand! The keysafe is next to the back door. The back door leads into a small hall way from where you will find the bathroom in one direction, and kitchen in the other direction. The fully-equipped kitchen is a welcoming space with a coffee machine, range cooker, and Smeg fridge/freezer. Seating and table for 4 people. Should you require a high chair, please just ask. Milk, biscuits, coffee and tea await you to make a cuppa after your journey! Fun fact …..You will notice a black door in the far wall …… open it up to find a bottle rack to store your wine. This was previously the bakers oven and the brickwork inside is amazing! But nowadays, more useful as a wine cooler. Joined to the kitchen is the walk-in pantry, with washing machine and worktop, dishes, glasses, pots and pans, everything you need for self catering. If you don’t fancy cooking, there is a cosy local pub, The Packhorse, just 100m away which serves fabulous food lunchtimes and evenings Wednesdays to Sundays. We would also recommend Moor Farm, just between Peakirk and Newborough, for fantastic breakfasts. From the kitchen, walk through to the sitting room which has a wood burner , smart TV with Netflix, record /CD player, comfy seating and footstool. Just past the front door you will find Lounge 2. This is a peaceful room to give separate space for each of you to maybe read or listen to music. Upstairs you will find Bedroom one which has a double bed with electric blanket and side wall lights. There’s lots of cupboard space for hanging and storage. If you require a travel cot, please just ask. Bedroom 2 has a chest of drawers, hanging rail and two comfy single beds. Northborough is a pretty village and a short walk down Church Street will reveal some beautiful very old properties and gardens. The bus stop is nearby on Lincoln Road so why not catch a bus into Peterborough just 10 minutes away. From there you could catch a train to London just 45 minutes away. The lovely Georgian town of Stamford is just 8 miles away and well worth a visit to wander through the streets with lots of independent shops, pubs and restaurants, and Burghley House. Spalding and Bourne are both 8 miles away. The North Norfolk coastal town of Hunstanton is just 55 miles away, you could stop en route to visit Sandringham, the home of the Royal Family. Guest access You may use the whole house and patio area. There is also a huge lawn which children are welcome to play on under supervision. Other things to note Church bells on a Sunday morning, not every Sunday or earlier than 9.30. Lovely to hear but just letting you know. Please be aware of the low doorway in and out of the kitchen. For stays longer than 28 days the following is required by the host: - proof of main residence - names and phone numbers of those residing in the property - company contact details
