The Carolina Cottage exemplifies simple elegance. The one bedroom, one bath vacation rental is specifically designed for those who plan on enjoying the wonderful outdoor activities available in the beautiful North Carolina mountains. The space The downstairs of the Carolina Cottage is function at its finest. The stained concrete floor (with radiant heat) and pine-board ceiling lend warmth to the living area and kitchen. The living area, complete with two comfy couches, is purposefully arranged to maintain the cozy feeling of the cottage. The kitchen includes a coffee maker, refrigerator/freezer, stove/oven, microwave, and dishwasher, and is stocked with all you need for preparing a simple meal in or ordering out. The upstairs bedroom, with king sized bed, is a large and accommodating space with unique architectural accents. The adjoining bath features an antique claw foot tub with shower. This relaxing spot will welcome you back after a great day of enjoying the mountains. As with most places in these beautiful mountains, you'll want to spend most of your daylight hours outside. And at the Carolina Cottage you can continue to enjoy the outdoors by hiking the trail found on the property, enjoying meals on the private deck, and having s'mores by the fire pit. Guest access Guests have exclusive access to the cottage, deck, and fire pit. While there is no public access to the hiking trail on the property, it is possible to pass a neighbor from time to time. Other things to note Whenever possible, we are happy to offer an early check-in and/or an extended check-out time. Please don't hesitate to ask. We will consider one-night stays on a case-by-case basis. Please inquire if you are interested in a one-night stay. If you are requesting a same-day booking, it is not likely that we will have the cottage ready for you by the 3:00pm check-in time. It may be as late as 7:00pm - depending on the time that the request is made. The paved driveway gradually ascends to a gravel section leading to the cottage, and it is easily accessible by guests arriving in all types of vehicles from motorcycles to compact cars and SUVs to trucks. The hilly terrain surrounding the cottage is typical of the topography of the western North Carolina mountains, but ample flat parking surrounds the cottage, and it is an easy, flat walk to the cottage door. The cottage shares a driveway with the main house and is situated approximately 150 feet beyond the main house.
