The space Maple Hill Hideaway is a cozy glamping escape in Central Vermont where nature and comfort come together. Set on 50 private acres, our geodesic dome offers a peaceful, design-forward stay with wide meadow views, a warm Japandi-inspired interior, and a unique sense of connection to the outdoors. With nearly half the dome made of clear panels, you can take in panoramic views while still feeling tucked in, comfortable, and protected from the elements. It is the perfect retreat for couples or solo travelers looking to slow down, recharge, and enjoy Vermont’s natural beauty without giving up thoughtful comforts. Located just one mile from Randolph Village, the dome is a quiet home base for exploring the best of Vermont, with easy drives to destinations like Woodstock, Stowe, and Burlington. The dome sits in a large meadow and is accessed by foot from the designated parking area, with a short walk of about 200 feet up a logging road. Because the ground is uneven, sturdy footwear is recommended, and the property may **not be the best fit for guests with mobility challenges. Inside, you’ll find a queen bed with cozy bedding, electricity, heat, air conditioning, room-darkening curtains, a small refrigerator, and coffee and tea setup. In colder months, the wood stove adds extra warmth and ambiance. Outside, enjoy a smokeless Solo Stove, Adirondack chairs, a gas grill, and a heated outhouse nearby with a waterless toilet and foot-pump sink. **Please note that the outdoor shower is currently closed for the season. The dome blends luxury with nature, providing comfort while keeping you sheltered from the elements all year round. Features: • Glampsite: The dome sits on a platform on a grassy lawn with mowed trails through a large, private meadow, string lights for ambiance, wireless Bluetooth speaker, comfy chairs, and a smokeless Solo Stove campfire. There is a gas grill for outdoor cooking. Enjoy morning coffee at the cafe table. • Modern Amenities: While we provide many comforts, remember this is a rural property, and you may encounter wildlife and bugs. We strive to keep the dome critter-free, but some may still make appearances. Please bring bug repellant and check for ticks before bed. • No Pets Please: Emotional support animals are considered on a case-by-case basis with documentation and a $200 deposit. • Fun Fact: Geodesic domes are incredibly strong due to their shape, distributing weight evenly without needing internal columns. Inside the Dome: • Electricity: Yes, the dome has electricity. • Outlets: USB and 120 outlets in the nightstand. Bring your chargers, tablets, speakers, and other devices to make you feel at home. • Heating: Four-season insulation kit and a full-size wood stove keep the dome warm in winter, but if building fires aren’t your thing, there is an electric heater as well. Wood and an electric blanket are provided for chilly nights. • Air Conditioning: In the warmer months, we have A/C that should be left on to prevent the dome from getting hot. We also recommend keeping the curtains closed when the sun is at its peak. • Operating Windows: We have two port-hole windows that are great for ventilation, with screens. • Room Darkening Curtains: These are great for sleeping in late (although waking up to nature is spectacular!). They also keep the dome cool in summer and warm in winter. Contact the host if you have any problems opening or closing the curtains. • Sleeping Arrangements: Queen-sized bed with luxury bedding and plenty of pillows. • Kitchenette: Includes coffee/tea mugs/basic dinnerware, complimentary tea and coffee. Bring your favorite K-Cups and tea bags in addition to our provided Starbucks and Green Mountain offerings. Mini moos, sugar, and sugar substitute provided. Filtered drinking water, a small refrigerator with a mini freezer. Coffee mugs, wine glasses and a wine opener. Note: There is no cooktop or running water in the dome. This is NOT a full kitchen. While we provide a grill and grilling tools, please remember to bring all necessary cooking essentials, including oil, spices, and any other ingredients you may need, or try one of the amazing restaurants nearby. • Blankets: Outdoor blankets, and a throw blanket for extra warmth, as well as an electric blanket for those extra chilly nights ( winter). • Fire Extinguisher: No open flame candles are permitted in the dome. The only fire should be in the wood stove. Please contact the host if help is needed starting a fire in the wood stove. No smoking of any kind (cigarettes, vapes, marijuana). • CO2/Smoke Detector: Please contact the host if the alarm goes off and you cannot silence it. • Flashlights: We have provided bright LED flashlights for use. They come in handy for trips to the outhouse at night. Bring headlamps for extra light! Outside the Dome: • Relax by the Fire: VT handmade Adirondack chairs and a smokeless Solo Stove with wood are available for campfires. Don’t forget to bring s’more fixings. • Smoking: Please leave no trace of smoking behind. Do not use the Solo Stove to dispose of cigarette butts. Please pack out all paraphernalia. • Bathroom: A “not-your-average-outhouse” is 20 feet away with a high-tech, waterless toilet and foot pump sink featuring Lunaroma foaming soap. A hair-dryer is available. There are extra outlets available. The outhouse is heated in winter, and there's an outdoor heated shower available in three seasons with biodegradable products. Bath towels are provided. **** the shower is closed for the season and will reopen when temperatures stay above freezing consistently in the late spring****. Winter Access From December to mid-April, we typically have significant snow. You'll arrive to a warm dome, but snowshoes or micro spikes may be needed to trek the 200 feet from the parking area. Snowshoeing is highly recommended when the snow is deep. We have two pair to share, just let us know. Whether you're seeking outdoor adventures or tranquil relaxation, Maple Hill Hideaway offers something for everyone. ***NO CLEANING FEE*** Guest access A map of the property is available in the Welcome pamphlet. Please take a picture so you can access boundary information while hiking. We have 50 acres for you to enjoy, and with special permission, an additional 50 acres from a neighboring property. Contact the host for permission BEFORE entering the neighboring property. If enjoying the brook, you can walk its length but avoid walking through the culvert and never trespass on to other peoples properties. Stay within the brook if leaving our property. Vermont is a "Rivers for all" state. Do not enter the brook after significant rain or flooding; it may not be safe. Contact the host if unsure. Please ensure you wear appropriate footwear and are prepared for uneven ground throughout the property. Due to the terrain, the dome may not be suitable for individuals with mobility challenges. Parking: • Free parking is available on-site. The dome is a short walk (200 feet) from the parking area. If you need help with your belongings. Communication: • We are available via phone/text or Airbnb messaging for any questions or assistance during your stay. House Rules: • Quiet Hours: Please observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. • No Parties or Events: The space is intended for a peaceful retreat. • No Smoking: No smoking of any kind inside the dome. Smoking is allowed outside, but please dispose of cigarette butts responsibly. • No Open Flame/Candles in the dome. • No Pets: Emotional support animals are considered on a case-by-case basis with documentation and a $200 deposit. Trash and Recycling: • Please separate your trash and recycling. We provide bins for both. If you need to dispose of larger items, please contact us for assistance. Please lock bins. Wildlife and Insects: • Given the rural nature of the property, you may encounter wildlife and insects. Please keep food inside the dome and use bug repellant. Check for ticks before bed. Firewood: • Firewood is provided for the wood stove and the outdoor Solo Stove. Please use responsibly and contact us if you need more. Supplies Provided: • Outhouse: Toilet paper, VT made hand soap, hand towels, and biodegradable shampoo, body wash and conditioner. We also provide body wipes, if it’s too chilly for the shower (the shower is closed for the season). Hair dryer and extra outlets. Mirror (lighting is purposely not bright to prevent bugs from conjugating). • Kitchenette: Coffee mugs, coffee, tea, sugar, sugar substitute, creamer, wine glasses, bottle opener. Filtered water in the refrigerator. • Bedding: Sheets, pillows, blankets, and an electric blanket for colder nights. • Towels: Hand towels in outhouse. Local Tips: • Groceries: The nearest grocery store is Shaw’s supermarket- 8 minutes away • Local Markets: Check out the seasonal farmer’s market on Saturdays in town for fresh local produce and fare. • Kinney Drugs: The nearest pharmacy is in Randolph - 8 minutes away. • Outdoor Gear: If you need to rent outdoor gear, there are shops in Randolph and nearby towns. Seasonal Considerations: • Winter: AWD/4WD recommended during winter and mud season (early spring). Bring appropriate clothing for cold weather. Snowshoes or micro spikes are recommended for deep snow. Boots and snow pants are handy. • Summer: Bring swimwear for the swimming hole, water shoes, and bug spray for the trails. ** it is not recommended to go into brooks, streams and rivers after significant rain.
