Rideau River Oasis
Description
Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway along the banks of the Rideau Canal - a designated UNESCO world heritage site. This two-bedroom condo overlooks the river and is one private, self-contained side of a historic home in the heart of Manotick village - located just 22 minutes from downtown Ottawa and 15 minutes from Ottawa International Airport. The neighbourhood dock is a dream for swimming, fishing and paddling and you're only one block from all the quaint shops in the village. The space Our historic home overlooking the river is more than 120 years old and was originally the carriage maker's home in Manotick - a village within Ottawa that predates Canada's Confederation. Because of the post-Gothic bargeboard trim, the home remains part of Manotick's historic walking tour. However, inside, the home has been completely updated with all the conveniences of modern living. The condo side has a large foyer, two bedrooms, a four-piece bath, and open-concept living/dining room and kitchen. Our neighbourhood dock is steps from our front door - a dream for swimming, fishing and paddling of all kinds - and one block from Manotick's Main Street, where you'll find all the amenities you could need (grocery, liquor stores etc.) in addition to a wide variety of shops, restaurants and pubs. Manotick is a sought-after community within Ottawa’s capital city because of it's proximity to downtown and its location along the “Long Reach” of the Rideau Canal - a boater’s paradise of 26 miles of open river between lock stations. The allure of the village and our home is it feels like cottage living in the city. Guest access Rideau River Oasis is one side of our historic home - a completely self-contained and private two-bedroom condo, with it's own separate entrance (with digital lock system). You also have your own spot in the driveway and there's on-street parking if there's more than one vehicle. Other things to note The back garden and patio aren’t included with our STR licence, but there’s a cute porch for two out front, our neighbourhood dock is just steps from our front door and the historic Watson’s Mill around the corner is a great place to sit, watch the falls and take in the outdoors.
