Little house on Tumblin Island

A short paddle or boat ride from the Bush Island government wharf and only minutes from Rissers Beach campground and Cresent beach. Our 18th century island home is a perfect base for exploring the LaHave islands, one of Canada's best Kayaking destinations. Relax in the 5 person wood fired sauna after a day on the water, watch the sunset from the floating dock, or watch the lobster boats head out to sea from the front deck. . The space This private island features a 3 bedroom cottage with a wood fired sauna and private wharf and floating dock. The 1905 beautiful character house has a full kitchen with propane stove and oven, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster. There’s a dining room with games and books available and a front parlour with comfortable couches and room to rest, read or enjoy the ocean views. There are three bedrooms. All clean and comfortable, all with ocean views. The outdoor shower is beautiful and unique, being shaped like a spiral. Very peaceful and private. The outdoor bathroom features a composting toilet and hand pump for hand washing. Please note: Our island property may not be suitable for individuals with mobility challenges. Access requires travel by boat and walking up a walkway from the floating dock to the wharf. The terrain includes uneven ground and sometimes unstable or slippery rocky shores. Guest access You have full run of our part of the island. Including wharf, sauna, boat house, shower and outdoor composting toilet. Other things to note This property can only be accessed by boat. You can park your car at the Bush Island government wharf but it is a short paddle or boat ride to Tumblin island. We like to meet our guests at the wharf for check in.
