Great question 😊 1) While conveniently located within 1 mile of the Seattle city limits, this property has a peaceful, country, mountain, nature-like feel. 2) Situated technically within unincorporated King County, the space offers a quieter setting surrounded by MANY tall pine, spruce, & cypress trees, along with ongoing landscaping inspired by a camping/exterior design landscape & outdoor retreat center theme. 3) & similarly along the theme of the peaceful country/mountains/retreat theme: Guests often comment that the front & back yards look & feel like a small private park OR A camp site (____) (FOR POSSIBLE CAMPING LISTINGS, INSERT: Because !!!!), Retreat Center, or nature getaway (____) (FOR POSSIBLE CAMPING LISTINGS, INSERT IN THE PRECEDING BRACKETED OFF: So yeah, you'll see & hear many a variety of birds, along with squirrels & seasonal wildlife such as rabbits. On many occasions, even hawks, osprey, & EVEN BALD EAGLES fly overhead! They must be male & mid life—uh, they are bald after all!?!? Uh, get it … BALD eagles?!?! But seriously, the part that is NOT A JOKE is that THEY SERIOUSLY DO FLY OVERHEAD HERE AS LAKE WASHINGTON IS ONLY A COUPLE OF MILES AWAY! 4) & while there is no plumbing or bathroom in your Cottage, there is a standard 5 gallon bucket toilet w/ provided cat clumping liter or pine scented wood chips; this toilet "accessory" IS IN FACT more common than most city folk realize; after all, it is in the country. 5) Plus, there’s a greenbelt starting a couple of houses away, and also a scenic walking trail into Dead Horse Canyon are just a short walk away, making it easy to enjoy time outdoors. Plus Lake Washington is just a couple miles away; be sure to check out World Famous Seward Park, & also Coulon Park—both are within about a 10 minute distance by car (& short ride by bus) where there is lots of free swimming, BBQ’s, chowder houses, boating, volleyball, etcetera, etcetera, etc … 6) The detached Country Cottage itself is a cozy, approximately 200 sq. ft. two-room guesthouse designed for comfort, privacy, & simple independent living. It includes: a) * Dedicated bed room space. (Inquire in advance as there may be vacancy inside the main house.) b) • A separate room with a kitchenette/study/office area which INCLUDES A Primo hot & cold water dispenser. c) • A medium size fridge/freezer, toaster oven, 2 stove hotplate, microwave, dishware, rice cooker, paper plates, closet, hangers, desk/office area in the kitchenette, LOTS of storage/cabinet type space d) Again, while there is no plumbing or bathroom in your Cottage, there is a standard 5 gallon bucket toilet w/ provided cat clumping liter or pine scented wood chips. This is more common than most city folk realize; after all, it is in the country but within 1 mile of Seattle City limits. e) The full bathroom is located inside the main home, just a short 5-meter (approx. 15-foot) walk from the cottage entrance. So if you want the advantage of paying a good $500 less (on a monthly bases) for having a commode inside the unit (again, no plumbing/bathroom inside Country Cottage-though of course you can use the full bathroom inside the main house), then you’ll find my most popular listing a great deal. f) The path between the cottage & house/full bathroom is covered by a large (13 foot) gazebo & includes a comfortable outdoor rug, providing a convenient & sheltered transition in all seasons. Many guests find this setup both easy & comfortable, especially those who enjoy a quieter, more private outdoor-style living experience with close access to indoor amenities. g) The property includes a number of shared outdoor features that may be enjoyed during your stay, including: *Professional Interior Decorating & Landscaping outside with a Country Cabin/Mountains/Retreat Center feel • A fenced/gated area around the cottage (helpful for guests with children or dogs) • Large front & backyard spaces with trees & seating • BBQ propane grills (front & backyard) • A fire pit with grill in the front yard (firewood available for a small fee) • Ping pong table, basketball hoop street side, badminton, & croquet • Bikes & helmets (use at your discretion; guests assume risks; donation accepted but NOT required) h) Quiet hours begin at 9:30 PM & are strictly observed by 10:00 PM, & continue until 8:00 AM to maintain a respectful & peaceful environment for guests, neighbors, & the household (ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE COMING HERE FOR THE WORLD CUP). i) This is a family-occupied property, & a minor resides here part-time. Guests must behave in a respectful, non-disruptive manner at all times especially with Guests/my small family & that said on my end as relates to interactions with me personally as long as doesn’t interfere with Guests, I’m actually real flexible & prefer to be outgoing! • Bathroom access: Guests acknowledge that access to the full bathroom is located inside the main home & requires a short, covered walk, though there is a standard commode/5 gallon bucket inside Country Cottage. • Limited entry into the main home is restricted to bathroom access, & in the kitchen in the main house to wash dishes, unless otherwise arranged with the host (or if we or another fellow guest happen to strike up a good conversation while you are inside main home). • No parties or events: Parties or events if it is too loud/breaches the peace I think is the technical term, or unregistered guests, re not permitted. • Quiet hours: Quiet hours are observed between 10 pm - 8 am. • No illegal activity: Any illegal activity or conduct that threatens the safety or well-being of others is grounds for immediate cancellation without refund. • Accurate booking information: Providing false or misleading information during booking may result in cancellation. Other things to note I provide bathing towels in the full sized bathroom inside the main house, & also provide the basic bathroom toiletries in Country Cottage & inside the main house. As far as shampoo, it would be best to just plan to bring your own bathing essentials.
