St. Michael's Mission, South Hall, First Floor

Welcome to St. Michael's Mission, circa 1924. Come, relax on 50 sprawling & secluded acres. Adjoining 150 acre nature conserve with splendid hiking leads to Hemlock Lake, a privatized & undeveloped finger lake. St Michael's was originally built as a live in seminary, so the guest rooms of varying size have a dormitory feel with full private baths, and your stay includes a large community kitchen and dining areas. Taking reservations for solo adventurers, couples, families, big groups. The space Located on Mission Rd in Conesus NY, the old St. Michael's Mission is a retired seminary built by and for the Catholic church between 1925 and 1959. During it's peak the school graduated around 400 students, and so you can imagine this as a large facility that has more history than can be shared here. On the property is a separate home which was originally built in 1940 as a convent and we have been operating this as a guest home since summer 2015, and with great success. (see our other listings) We have now opened the main mission building spaces this year in an effort to save these facilities from the ravages of time. This property, inside and out, is just too spectacular to not be enjoyed to the fullest. Your stay here will directly benefit these premises and what we are doing here is a bit unprecedented. Due to the limitations of the Airbnb home sharing platform and listing individual rooms in a large facility we are able to create a new listing for you to place your reservation. Please send us your request for dates and we'd be most glad to accommodate everything from solo adventurers to touring groups. Guest access We are renting private rooms within the facility and until our reservation system is perfected on a room by room basis we are in a sense playing luck of the draw on a first come first serve basis and sharing the space based on group size, not on rooms. Aside from having your private room with full bath, shared spaces include a kitchen with large attached dining spaces for groups, self serve laundry equipment, a small chapel and library. We give tours of the facility where you can see what we are working on as well as learn first hand of the history of St. Michael's Mission. Please note there are RING cameras installed at main entrances which are automatically recording all visitors coming and going, (audio and video) Other things to note Within walking distance is Eagle Crest vineyards which was once part of the mission property and their endeavors wherein the sacramental wines were produced for churches coast to coast and beyond. Though the winery is a separate and private entity today they still make these wonderful wines.
