Plus backyard access to the Tzankujil nature reserve with swimming, cliff diving, kayak rentals and volcano views. Attention : There are around 80 outdoor steps to reach the house. The space Custom built into a cliff, this 3 story masterpiece rises up in a spiral form echoing the golden ratio of a nautilus shell. The kitchen, dining and lounge area open out into the garden under a 30 ft vaulted ceiling so you will be constantly immersed in the beauty of nature here at Lake Atitlan. The Master Bedroom features a king size orthopedic bed and epic view over the lake. Lower Bedroom has a double bed, separate entrance, its own private bath, and lake more incredible lake views. Two fireplaces and original stained glass art window in the master bath are finishing touches on this hidden jem. The Third Bedroom is located in a separate tinyhouse 6m (20ft) from the main house. It has its own kitchenette and views over the valley. You can use the bathroom in the main house or there is another 3rd bathroom outdoors about 30m (100ft) walk through the garden. The Fourth bed is located in the lounge area above the kitchen / dining area (see photos). There's currently a twin size mattress on the floor, but we can bring you a double per request. The main house is sheltered from the street and is completely quiet even though you're right close to town. Guest access The entire house andgarden is completely private and exclusively yours to use. The house is located up an outdoor stair of around 80 STEPS UP so if you have a physical disability this might not be your best option. ******** IMPORTANT -- ABSOLUTELY NO PARTYING ******** The house is open plan and we have neighbors so we have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for parties. If you bring a large group or are making noise you will be asked to leave. If you want to have a blowout with your friends - please find another place. Other things to note San Marcos La Laguna is a small village on the shore of Lake Atitlan famous for its spiritual community, yoga classes, ecstatic dance, and metaphysical workshops. Walk through your back yard to the spectacular Tzankujil Nature Reserve for a swim, a nature walk to ancient Mayan ceremonial sites, kayak rentals, or to plunge 30 feet into the lake from the famous jumping platform. To get around the lake, hop on a public boat from the San Marcos dock to visit the neighboring villages - San Pedro, San Juan, Santa Cruz and Panajachel. Private boat hire is also available if you prefer a personal tour. We can also arrange other local activities for you including guided hikes up the volcanoes, horseback riding, paragliding, day trips to nearby hot springs, beaches, and Mayan pyramids.
