Relax by the fireplace, gather around the outdoor fire pit under the stars, or spend your days swimming and fishing from your private dock. The space *BOAT ACCESS ONLY * This cabin is accessible by boat only: This boat access only cabin is both tranquil and unique. Sitting in its own private cove at the end of Blue Heron Bay, the cabin offers serene and breathtaking views of South Tenmile Lake. Surrounded by the temperate Pacific Northwest rainforest full of ferns,pines and maples. You'll arrive by boat to find yourself surrounded by your own lush paradise. The large spacious upper deck and large lawns offer panoramic views from the outside as does the large floor to ceiling salvaged coast guard cabin windows from within. The Bay offers endless views, relaxation, wildlife, fishing, and lake enjoyment.The home’s unique finishes and thoughtful details create an inviting blend of elegance and comfort. When you’re ready to explore, the ocean beaches and Oregon dunes are just a mile away — perfect for an easy day trip or a scenic adventure. Whether your on a solo adventure, a couple or family and friends looking to get away, and experience a truly one of a kind destination, this cabin will give you incredible memories, serenity and transport you to a slower pace of life! Outdoor features: -Massive lower deck right on the lake with table,chairs and sun umbrella. -Private dock for all your water adventures -Outdoor fire pit to keep you warm as you star gaze -Large grasssy lawn that extends to the lake -Large porch and deck attached to house with loveseat, chaise lounge chairs and table with chairs for eating or drinking as you watch the incredible sunsets on Tenmile. -Hammock hung under the Japanese maples -Year round stream that meanders through the property emptying into the lake -Propane outdoor grill Area features: -10 minute boat ride to the town of Lakeside -15 minute drive to beaches and the coast,perfect for fossil and shell hunting -15 minute drive to coastal sand dunes -20 minute drive to Winchester Bay, with incredible public piers perfect for crabbing -30 minute drive to Elk wildlife reserve -30 minute drive to larger city of Coos bay(with great antique and thrift shops) -60 minute drive to waterfall hikes -60 minute drive to Sea lion cave If Renting a Boat: Rent a boat at Lakeside Marina. Lakeside Marina provides different sized boats and cost will be determined based on boat selected. Contact the marina directly or go to their website to view options and pricing. Please arrive early enough to unload and be ready to disembark from marina to the cabin, which is about 5 minutes from the marina prior to dark. The lake gets rather dark at night. Park your car inside the gate at the marina. Parking is first come, so if parking is full then you'll need to park outside their gate on the street. If your party has more than 1 car then all other cars need to be parked on the street outside their gate. We've parked our own cars on the street in Lakeside numerous times without any issues. Moor your boat to the side of the dock, unfortunately our boat house is under construction and not safe to park a boat under at the moment. If arriving via Lake Taxi: Lakeside Marina also provides a lake taxi service. Call the marina for current pricing.Reservations must be made with the marina directly and we encourage your reservation be made once the cabin reservation is confirmed. This way you'll be sure to be on their schedule. Be sure and arrive with plenty of time to unload and load the taxi as the lake taxi only operates from dusk till dawn. Park your car inside the gate, parking is first come, so if parking is full then you'll need to park outside their gate on the street. If bringing your own boat: You can use the County Park in lakeside to launch your boat. You can also park your vehicle within the County Park for a small fee, around 3$ a night, that you pay via drop box with cash or check. Be sure to arrive with plenty of time to unload and arrive at the cabin prior to dark. The lake gets rather dark at night. Moor your boat to the side of the dock. Be sure to bring your fishing pole and pickup desired bate and any other gear at Lakeside Marina as well as any required fishing licenses. Life jackets are required to be worn by children under the age of 13 while on or near the water (dock) at all times. -Cabin gets water from a private spring which is safe to drink and cook with. We also provide distilled drinking water. -Cabin is heated using wall mounted electric heaters in most rooms and every bathroom, just make sure to turn them off when not physically in the room, also has wood burning fireplace in dining/kitchen area. -Cabin utilizes a septic tank. Nothing other than toilet paper is to be flushed down the toilets. If an emergency Roto Rooter is required, there may be an additional charge. -Also please take note that Tenmile lake can loose electricity during the winter months, it usually comes back on relatively quickly but important to plan accordingly. The cabin is stocked with emergency portable lights, small flashlights and candles. However you may want to pack headlamps or flashlights just in case! Guest access Entire house, large front and back porches, surrounding yard with large grass area for laying out in the sun, sitting around the fire pit, watching the stars or playing sports/games, boat dock with direct swimming access to lake and boardwalk. Make sure to enjoy the year round stream that runs through the entire property, whose lovely sound adds a serene soundtrack to your stay. There aren't any other houses or roads around the house, so you'll feel like your on your own island.
