Welcome to your private garden-level bed & breakfast retreat in the house on the hill! **NOTE: Please ensure you have entered the number of guests in your party to get accurate pricing, and please scroll down and read the "Other Things to Note" section below before booking -- many thanks!** The space This quiet and serene house on three private tree-covered acres is perched at the end of a steep and winding gravel driveway high above Ganges, but is only a quick 4-minute drive into town. You will have your own private and almost completely self-contained garden-level suite (500 sq ft), which comes with a self-serve breakfast, and includes: - a spacious and comfortable bedroom with a large picture window looking out on the garden, with glimpses beyond of Galiano Island, Howe Sound and the North Shore mountains - your own separate entrance, a private patio overlooking the fenced-in back yard, and parking - a "breakfast bar" and dining area (with microwave, toaster-oven, toaster, hot plate, kettle and small fridge) which will be stocked with healthy local ingredients and equipment for making your own breakfast in the morning, or to warm up/prepare your delicious purchases from the island's markets and farm stands -- and we'll handle the washing up for you! - a cozy private lounge area with a sofa-bed, smart TV (with built-in Netflix), and a collection of books and games - a powder room (toilet and sink) - your own large private *outdoor* shower with a view of the garden, and glimpses of distant ocean and mountains! - brochures, maps and information about Salt Spring's many attractions and dining options Guests are also welcome to use the hot tub on the deck upstairs with its serene views, surrounded by greenery -- bath robes and towels provided. Guest access You'll have access to your own private suite, and to the outside areas around the house (garden, patio, private outdoor shower), as well as to the hot tub on the upstairs deck. Other things to note LIMITED KITCHEN FACILITIES: While Hillside Hideaway offers you lots of privacy and space with your own separate entrance, it is more a bed & breakfast than a self-catering vacation rental -- the "breakfast bar" (kitchenette) has no sink for washing dishes (we will do your dishes for you), and only a small bar fridge for storing any additional food items/drinks brought by guests. Please refer to the House Manual (available once you book) for more information about the breakfast ingredients provided. A list of restaurant recommendations on the island is also provided upon arrival. QUIET HOURS are from 11pm-7 am. Please bear this in mind if you are thinking of staying at Hillside Hideaway with small children, or if you're night owls -- your hosts live (and sleep) directly upstairs, and we encourage you to respect the peace and serenity of this secluded location. CHECK-IN is from 3pm-10pm. Requests to check in outside these times can sometimes be accommodated, but should be made well in advance so your hosts can plan accordingly. Please note that the suite only has an OUTDOOR SHOWER (very private with abundant hot water from a "rainfall" shower head and views out onto the garden). Guests contemplating arriving by bicycle or on foot should be aware that it is a VERY LONG AND STEEP climb (260 m elevation) up to Hillside Hideaway! FERRY RESERVATIONS made well in advance are highly recommended if you're bringing your car from the mainland (Tsawwassen), especially in summer and on long weekends.
