Arctic Resting Place – Close to the city center and the northern lights

The space The guest flat is connected to our home but fully private with its own entrance. Parts of our house are located above the flat, so you may occasionally hear footsteps. Our dog barks from time to time 🐶, and we have a baby 👶, so there may also be some crying now and then. We do our best to keep things quiet but want to be upfront that some noise is possible. Our home is located in the popular Alfheim neighborhood in Tromsø – just around the corner from the city’s well-known football stadium ⚽️. It’s a quiet area with many young families. We’re in an elevated part of the city, which gives great views 🌄 and often a good chance to see the northern lights. In winter, walking can be a bit tricky due to snow and ice. We recommend wearing spikes or “piggsko” on your shoes ❄️ – this is a good idea in many places around Tromsø, but we like to give a friendly heads-up! Guest access The entire guest flat is private – the bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and lounge are all for the exclusive use of our guests. There is also a shared patio that can be used to enjoy the view and watch the northern lights 🌌. It’s also available for guests who wish to smoke. Chairs and a table can be arranged upon request. Other things to note We are a small family who just welcomed our first child, Alfred, on New Year’s Eve last year. Stephen works as a principal at a local school, and Ida Amelie is a teacher and also studying. We’re an active family with lots going on, and meeting guests through Airbnb is a real blessing to us. It truly makes us glad when people get the chance to visit Tromsø and enjoy everything this city has to offer. We’ve created a welcome booklet that you’ll find in the apartment, filled with updated tips, local advice, and practical information to help you settle in and explore. We’ve also provided several books that can help you plan your stay and learn more about Norwegian culture. We want to do all we can to make your stay great!
