Guest access Please read before booking: At 3,600 feet elevation, there is a gradual climb up a mountain road to reach the top, where the road literally ends in the cabin's driveway and you are on the top of the mountain! Approximately .7 mile of the road is gravel, and if you are coming from a place where every road is flat and paved, the gravel road may seem intimidating and it would be recommended that you drive a vehicle with AWD or 4WD or at least a front wheel drive SUV. We do not recommend bringing any RWD vehicles (including 2WD trucks) as the tires tend to spin in the gravel on some of the sections with incline. Other things to note Please note not all cell phone providers have great reception at the cabin. Verizon and T-Mobile users will have no issues at all, ATT customers will have a difficult time getting reception both at the cabin and throughout the rest of the Asheville area in general. The cabin does have fast reliable WiFi which allows you to make calls as long as your phone has its WiFi calling on.
